So my old 3ds is on version 10.1 and the reason I'm attempting to downgrade is because I want to be able to use DSTWO plus to its full potential. (Meaning I can play 3ds/ds/gba/snes all from one card)

I currently do not own a DSTWO card and only intend to purchase one if I can in fact downgrade to 9.2.

However, I've been researching all day how to access the Homebrew Launcher in order to run SysUpdater and I cannot for the life of me get an entry point exploit to work. I'm trying use menuhax.

If someone could please help me it would be much appreciated.

Also, are there other cards that support 3ds/ds/gba?
Because if I could just skip all this downgrading nonsense and purchase a card that works for all of that on 10.1 I'd rather do that.

EDIT: Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

If you have the browser nag and menuhax installed either, your only options are ninjhax (with cubic ninja) or a friend's hacked 3ds with oot (ocarina of time) to access homebrew and install menuhax.

After that, you could downgrade to 9.2 and use, for example, CFW (something like DSTWO, but free) or buy the card you actually want.

Edit: I think sky3ds supports up to 10.3? I'm not sure

little advice here
DO NOT USE DSTWO+ , I REPEAT...DO NOT USE , UNLESS YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR 3DS.

Sky3DS supports up to 10.5 I believe.
But I'm looking for a card that I can play 3ds, ds, and GBA on
Is that possible with sky3ds?

I'm sure you can play .3ds files with it, but you will need private headers to play online and even so It could cost you a ban from nintendo services.

I don't know about ds and gba games.

forget about GBA,unless you are okey with 30FPS or slow down

normal DStwo or any R4i gold can play DS games.
That's unfortunate, I guess I will just have to stick to playing GBA on my nvidia shield.
I already own the R4 white card for ds games.
Now I just have to purchase a card for 3ds games.

So if I am on 10.3 or lower I don't have to worry about being banned from Nintendo? And won't need a private header? (Whatever that is.)

for 3DS games, you can use .cia games if you are in 9.2

but , you have an option to get gateway or sky3ds+ or qq3ds pro

From now on you need to be on the latest fw version to play online (10.5 at the moment).
Nintendo services includes eshop and other features inside some games (like Badge Arcade).
And simply put, a private header is a part of code with information about a game you already own.
Actually, nintendo can ban you if you download a .3ds game and play online with it without making before some modifications.

@aos10 So earlier you said not to use the dstwo+
If I was only to use a dstwo card for the gba emulation, would I be fine from the gateway brick code?

if you don't use the gateway mode , it's ok
but why buy expansive card only for DS/GBA stuff ?
Because there are no other ways to play GBA games on my 3ds other than using my r4 white card with gbaemu4nds and that has loads of compatibility errors.

GBA emulation isn't that bad through MGBA however if you want to run it natively, use injecting methods. For 3DS use CIA and for DS use your DS flashcart.

but now you can downgrade if you are in 10.1 , you have O3DS , there is less chance to brick
and even if brick , you can update to 10.5 to fix it.

Excuse me for my lack of knowledge on terminology here as I am new to the scene. What is CIA?

CIA format file can be descrided as the programs downloaded from eShop or online and is installed on 3DS main menu directly. It is including games, tools, game patches and plugins. What are they used for? Here just explain to you generally.

  • CIA Games: The cia games be showed on the 3DS Main Menu and save in the sd cad comes in 3DS, users can play it more conveniently.
  • CIA Game Patches: Some 3ds games need to be updated to fix the game bugs and add new feature, with the patches, you are easily to patch the 3ds games to enjoy the latest version.
  • CIA tools: The tool programms such as calculator, game manager, cia savedata manager and others also can be installed on the 3DS."
  • It basically allows the 3DS game to appear on the home screen as if you bought it from the eshop.

It's the file extension of installable 3DS games. You can play GBA by injecting games into the GBA VC titles. It runs fine, my friend did it on his 2DS. Just be sure to install it to both Sysnand and Emunand. You'll need to be on 9.2 to do this.
