I got my tax return and managed to get a ps4 on fw 1.75 and tonight I was able to start my tedious install of some homebrew. I'm looking to grab a PS Vita and have been reading through a bunch of threads on here trying to figure out the best model/bundle for target firmware/firmware to be on. I see there are different things devolped for different ranges of firmware and I need help deciding which is best. Can anyone help suggest their favorite? I'd like to develop some Vita stuff but haven't followed this scene for that long. Thanks ahead of time.

Get either a 3.18 or a 3.30 Vita. They are the golden firmwares for hacking at the moment, since nearly all known Vita hacks can be done on those said firmwares. If you are planning to develop native Vita homebrew, then install PSM Dev for Unity and install the Rejuvenate hack onto it. Then set up the VitaSDK which can be found here. Before that though, you will need to install DevkitPro and DevkitARM (bundled with DevkitPro) first.

Awesome. Thank you very much. Any specific bundle that has been known to ship with those firmwares?

That, I don't know. I only bought my Vitas second-hand. I checked the firmwares before I bought them.

3.18 for TN-X (PS1 games flawlessly), TN-V11 (PSP side) & Rejuvenate (not full speed).
3.51 loses TN-X but you can still do PS1 games on TN-V11 via PEOPS and Rejuvenate gets you full speed on this version.

Those are the best two, IMO.
