Due to pure clumsiness, I closed my old 3DS while a downgrade with safesysupdater from 10.3 to 9.2 was running. The process of copying CIA files has already started...

When I now power on the 3DS, the blue light goes on for a few seconds, then the screen flashes briefly, and the the blue light goes off again.

Any hope left?

No NAND backup, no hope  It sounds like you've bricked your console, and I don't think it's possible to fix that without a NAND backup, so you may have to buy another console.

Well better a 3Ds with the latest firmware, than a bricked one...

Just before I run the 10.5 update: Might it help anything, that I have installed menu hax before I tried to downgrade?

clumsiness? So you were falling over and accidentally closed your 3ds? Maybe I am miss understanding but It sounds like you deliberately closed your 3ds.

People like you deserve a prize xD

On the other hand, this should be put in the sysupdater faq, so other people won't make the same mistake

It's not like I thought: "Oh, the downgrade could take a while, lets pause for now and close it"... No... it was more like: "Oh, after 100 tries it finally works, let's hook it up to A/C..." And while picking it up, it somehow slipped out of my fingers and closed. Well... shit happens... :-(

I have 2 rules while updating any device regardless of if I can unbrick it or not myself if I mess it up midway.

Rule #1 : have enough battery or be on AC or DC power (Battery Backup on top of that whenever possible)
Rule #2 : DO NOT EVER handle the device while updating regardless of any temptations to hold it or press buttons for no reason.
