Hello Tempers, to date Nintendo has never officially made a Zelda 3 game (only Zelda 1 & 2 on NES) so do you think this could be finally the one that completes the trilogy of The Legend of Zelda series? It's in 3D, rumoured by fans to be a remake of Zelda 1 and very highly regarded to be one of the best Zelda game to ever be developed.

There's a chance it could be but who knows. :)

Here's a screenshot of the beautiful Zelda Wii U (possibly an NX launch title too):

Well, that and chronologically Link to the Past is a prequel.

But I don't think this is a Zelda 3 either.

The chronological order is whatever one decides it'll be as, because most Zelda fans prefer to disregard the Zelda CDi games as if they didn't exist and as such they don't include them in the timeline. Whether it's a good or bad game it still counts.

Zelda 3 and Portal 3 are more likely to be released than Half-Life 3. Nintendo always seemed to deliver their franchises except for Metroid. Dunno what else... but so far their first party titles are out. I can't wait for Starfox.

It's subjective, so yes. Everyone has their own interpretation.

When the creators of a said property decide what order the games go in then it's no longer subjective.

A link to the past is the first entry of the imprisoning was that assumes the hero failed in ocarina of time. The time line is not linear it diverges from OoT depending on if the hero fails or succeeds.

Should also add that Zelda and Zelda 2 are the last games at the end of the imprisoning war after the Golden Era.

That time has passed. There's been an official timeline since the release of Hyrule Historia.
Was not aware of this so, sigh.

Still, I'd like to see a "Zelda 3" because the number alone would make the title look great in addition to the game itself.

EDIT: Added emoticon.

I'd actually prefer if they'd make an actual coherent trilogy or so, kind of like they did with Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask but with a more connected story

You guys...someone is going to fart somewhere in the future. After coining 'the legend of Fart' and 'The legend of Fart II: adventures of Fart' and some spin-offs...will he be calling it Fart 3?

Poll and equally redundant photo coming up at eleven.

They did establish a new hyrule in ST because they found a new continent to establish it on.

However one could say that they found thy continent because the water is receding? Maybe Wind Wakers underwater Hyrule will be revealed again? Just a theory.

I don't think they have really shown enough to try and guess where or when it is.

Unless there's a pity vote I don't see any YES happening on that poll, or perhaps now it will since I said this. Zelda Link to the Past was internally and externally known as Zelda 3 before they gave it the official subtitle back in the day on SNES. There's no argument around that begging for something to be literally called Zelda 3, it will never happen. It doesn't matter years later and lots of dumb jumbled stories later that Zelda 1 and 2 aren't even the 1st and 2nd games in the hyrule historia timeline, but it is just what it is.
