Hacking [?] So, let's say I want to go back to the old, boring way of using a 3DS...

I don't know if that title was appropriate enough, but basically what I am asking is what should I do to go back to the way of playing my 3DS without emuNAND or CFWs or anything like that. It's a dumb question, I know; but I just feel like that having a failsafe backup plan might be really useful one day (and yes, part of the reason is because I'm somewhat paranoid by the rumors about the 10.5 speculation as of now, even though they're likely to be false/misinformation).

I currently have a N3DSXL with sysNAND 9.2 & emuNAND 10.5. They are unlinked (through the method of formatting sysNAND). I also currently have a NAND backup of sysNAND 9.2, emuNAND 10.3 (in case I wanna use sysUpdater for a particular reason), and I can make one now for emuNAND 10.5, if necessary.
I also have a full backup of every file in the system since first using emuNAND, and I'm able to make another one if needed. Unfortunately, I had to delete the backup files from when I only had sysNAND (just before setting up emuNAND), due to certain reasons; but the only difference I can distinguish between the backups is probably just a few CIA titles, one being a game title (Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask...I like the series, okay?) and the rest being CFW apps (SaveDataFiler, DevMenu, NTR CFW, etc.).

What would be the process to transfer it all back to sysNAND (not including the CIA-installed games, since that's probably the case), and have a 3DS without any of that emuNAND stuff? I guess the process would be something around deleting the hidden emuNAND partition in the SD Card, and starting anew in the ol' sysNAND. But I'm not sure if I'm able to re-link my NNID (most of my games are digital), plus I would lose a bunch of save files.

Thanks in advance! :)

Stop if you wish. If it turns out false, you'll be out of luck unless you get another 3DS. 10.5 is fine. Nothing is wrong with it. It won't kill you or anything. Lol.

I'm just being a bit paranoid, that's all. XD
I've just been thinking about having a plan if something bad happens, even before this 10.5 speculation. I also think the rumors are false, but again, I can be paranoid.

Don't worry. Nintendo doesn't have the right to access your systems personal content. If they do, they'd be breaking the law. Even if you are pirating or not, they have to prove it and then they STILL don't have the right to delete your games.

All it takes is injecting the emunand partition/backup to the nand. Emunand/nand are fully compatible. You may want to backup emunand then format sd card with eminand9 first to remove emunand partition though.

Actually, they can, do, and have already.

Perhaps you should take some time to actually read over the EULA (a legally binding contract) that you (and the rest of us blindly) "sign" by selecting accept.

There are a number of actions Nintendo can take against you, including the removal of pirated software, because you agreed to let them do so by signing the EULA.

Edit:
Here's the line from the software licencing portion of the 3DS' EULA that you agreed to, this allows them to remove pirated software from your 3DS.
Content obtained through the unauthorized modification of the hardware or software of your Nintendo 3DS System will be removed.

But here's the thing. I didn't accept that. I'm currently at 4.2 and refuse to do anything for Nintendo. I look at it in terms. " This is my system. You want to mess with MY console, you'll need MY permission. There's no if, ands, or buts. "

I suppose it's a fair question to ask what the restoration process would be, but what exactly are you concerned might happen if you don't restore your 3DS to virgin status?

You mention being paranoid, but of what?

I honestly don't know of what exactly, but I guess I'm just scared of that tiny possibility of Nintendo getting through and stopping the ability to use emuNAND altogether. Plus, I don't know if some personal reason in my part may just tell me do this. Again, these sound like highly unlikely events; but it never hurts to be safe...even if this sounds pretty silly. :P
Although, I guess if there was ever a "emuNAND-patching panic" to occur, I'm pretty sure a few tutorials would pop up about how to avoid the event, downgrade the system, or prepare for the move back to sysNAND.

If your emuNAND became unusable, I'm pretty sure you could just redownload all your bought games on your sysNAND. Or if your whole console became unusable, call Nintendo and ask them to move your NNID to the new console. If you keep backups of your saves, assuming you get an exploitable console the second time around you can just reinject all your saves and away you go. There's really nothing in the realm of imagination that warrants putting everything back into your sysNAND and going legit.
