Hi, ive only recently gotten back to playing my Wii after packing it away for a few years so "forgotten"
some rules when playing back ups. I want to play ToS on USBLoader GX (was waiting for steam release but since its apparantly dissapointing i said screw it ill just play my backup on the Wii) and its not showing up when i put in my game folder on the HDD. All my other GC back ups work far as im aware, however i noticed there all in game.iso filenames in their respective folders. I dont remember having to convert them, do i have to just rename my ToS isos in the folder to that or run it through a program? and can it play multiple discs. Yes ive searched the forums, there's too much confusing info and some are dated back a while ago so maybe there's new methods now. sorry for the n00bish question i know you guys hate it but you have to forgive me its been a while since i worked all this stuff out :(

If both discs are already .iso's then you can just simply rename them.
  • usb1:/
    • games/
      • Tales of Symphonia [GQSEAF]/
        • game.iso
        • disc2.iso
If they still don't show up after you've renamed .iso's, and placed them in the correct folder. Try deleting the Titles Cache file. (I don't remember exactly how it's named) But if it exists, it'll be in your usbloader_gx folder.

Thanks, it at least shows up now in the usbloader menu but crashes :( I'll just play around with the options see what I can do otherwise I might settle for the stream release after all.

Never mind spoke to soon, got it working , just turned on region to auto :) only other question now is how do i switch between discs? Just rename disc2.iso to game.iso when I reach there eventually?

No you don't have to rename it.

I remember reading about it a while back and I think the loader handles it automatically, but to be honest I don't remember. Someone else will have the answer.

Okay so I looked into it. The disc swapping is handled by whichever Gamecube loader you're using. Which would be Nintendont, DIOS MIOS, or Devolution.

Nintendont (which I personally recommend) handles the disc swapping automatically. When you reach the end of the first disc, Nintendont will detect the swap request, look for disc2.iso in the ToS folder, and run it automatically.

Try using Nintendont instead for Gamecube games

DM switches discs when you hit the eject button. Nintendont does it automatically when it detects the disc swap call from the game.

I think I've already installed dios mios though, can I still install Nintendont?
Yes, Nintendont is just an app. It doesn't require a modification of the Mios like Dios Mios. It was actually created by the same developer that created Dios Mios. Dios Mios has essentially been made obsolete by Nintendont.

Here's links to the Nintendont files...

Nintendont - Loader.dol (rename it to boot.dol)
Nintendont - icon.png

Just create a folder called "Nintendont"... place the above files in it, and then place the whole folder in our apps folder.

UPDATE:
So just install Nintendont over dios mios? I don't want to risk bricking my wii. Sorry for all the questions.
No it doesn't work like that. You can just leave Dios Mios there. Or if you want the Wii's real Mios back, just reinstall the real Mios over Dios Mios to get rid of Dios Mios.
