I wonder. Would it be possible to run the installer via my DStwo cart? That would be way easier for me than trying to find a copy of either of those games for use with that board. :o

Sorry if this has been asked already, but after being out of Gateway stuff for quite some time, I'm back into it for now.
I was playing a game recently, and though I saved plenty, I didn't often close the game. Yesterday my game crashed and was surprised to see I lost a lot of progress!
I know all about that the Gateway won't write saves to the SD card until you close the game back in the day, but I really thought that was 'fixed' nowadays!

Isn't there an easier way to make Gateway write the saves to SD card without having to close and boot up the game continually?

Just to assist those who forgot (like I did) what will happen if you decide you want to run a DS Card of any type on a NEW 3DS System (N3DS). You will have to run the NVRAM Install and Install the MSET for your Region explained in GW's Tutorial:

You can........but I think it requires an actual CFW like RXTools, or another variant. You MIGHT be able to run it on GW, but I am NOT 100% on it. I dont think GW has been able to get it working. I think it still requires the Ambassador Program Authorization, but even that doesnt work alone. Would have to find out from other Sources, and maybe someone here or on GW's MaxConsole Forum can answer it.

I can say that at present, Gateway cannot yet run GBA or DSiWare, whether legit or otherwise. It's honestly the one thing keeping it from being a perfect solution for me.

Use rxtools for gba/dsiware games and gateway 3ds for everything else since they use the same emunand.

Pardon my newbness, since I basically started with a 4.4 3DS XL and had the Gateway well before anything regarding CFW started, but... wouldn't trying to run some kind of CFW ruin my emuNAND or sysNAND somehow? Is it possible to use both on the same system? Or do you basically have to edit the SD card to choose which one? From what I understood, it's either one or the other, and not possible to be able to have both. And annoyingly, CFW is not as attractive since then they usually won't support the .3ds/z/sx files that would otherwise be on the Gateway red card.

Also, since it has been a while since my 3DS was down, and now I have it up and running again... how the freak do I use cheats? I see pressing up allows me to toggle modes, but is there like a live cheat editor? or should I look up some kind of place to get a db for cheat codes? And how would I enable cheats on .cia games, since I'm currently offline anyway?

For me i am on 4.2 myself and have 2 options to use, either load rxtools/gateway 3ds using the ds mset exploit by switching between them using a ds mode flash cart, or if you have a copy of cubic ninja or orcarina of time 3d, you can use either of those games to load the homebrew launcher to load gateway 3ds or rxtools.

I personally use the ds mode exploit to load gateway 3ds and use my copy of cubic ninja to load up rxtools. 4.x firmware on a original 3ds/xl you can use mset to load both rxtools or gateway 3ds. Been using it for a while now and have no issues with a ruined sysNAND or emuNAND. You can basicly choose which one you want to use at any given time on the same SD card.

I have no idea reguarding cheats since i do not use them.

I have an O3dsxl on 7.2 with Gateway emunand on 10.5. I have a retail cart of pokemon AS that was played on 7.2 sysnand. If I load GW Classic mode, will I be able to use my cart of pokemon without the save being corrupt since my sysnand is capable of playing the game and allow me to go online this way? I want to confirm before I try so I don't corrupt the save.

Try loading the gateway 3ds classic mode that has the plus/+ symbol instead of the minus/- symbol for your pokemon game to see if that helps.

So i just read on the official support forum of Gateway 3DS that emunand 10.5 should be supported for the N3DS.
So after updating launching into emunand works fine but i got one weird problem.
I can't press select to open the gateway menu while in emunand. Is it really a compatibility problem or am i just missing something o.o

Yep, putting the installer for rxtools on your supercard dstwo will work the same as installing the gateway 3ds ds mset mode exploit. Just have both installer files on your ds flash cart so you can switch whenever you want to. They both work using the same emunand. Rxtools does not read the gateway 3ds red card at all when running rxtools emunand.

Yes i've got emunand 10.5 running on my N3DS and everything works with the most recent Gateway version 3.7.1.
I presume O3DS should logically also work on 10.5 emunand then.

I recently downgraded my european New 3DS Xl from 9.9E to 9.2E successfully. After i boot the Gateway launcher from the homebrew channel, the Picture of Gateway Omega appears and after that, i'll be redirected to sysnand with the game selection-menu by clicking select. I want to create an emunand which i'm going to update to 10.5 in order to Play the newest backups. i'm using 3.7.1 - thanks for any help
