Hacking Report of Nintendo removing unsigned CIAs, can anyone confirm?

My CIA's update just fine on my 10.5 emuNAND and visiting the eShop has no effect my current CIA's installed.

In this case I'll have to second Crystal's findings, no game or homebrew CIAs were lost (I don't have DLC or theme CIAs) on my N3DS.

Maybe the guy who lost his cia is that dumb that he tried to update an out of region cia? or he is just an attention whore.

I am finding since the 10.4 updated, mass misinformation and panic spreading has started popping back up again. People are claiming to have had their emuNAND banned, cia's being removed, and all kinds of sketchy stories. I am pretty sure they are all attention seekers or leaving out details.

Well, if he tried to update an unsigned CIA, eShop treats them as eShop games, and that means redownloading the updated version, and we all know what happens after that.

No reason for panic, eat your greens, RTFM and keep calm.

we don't really 'update' a cia, we download updates from the shop, we can do this whether we have the game or not

Fair point. But for a legit CIA or something you honestly purchased, eShop 'sees' you have a proof of purchase, and with an unsigned one it sees you have the game, but not the proofs, right?

I've updated my N3DS to gw 10.5 (from 10.3) emunand and all of my cia's, both signed and unsigned are still there.

Strangely enough I can't play online, I receive the same error about updating system (002-0119). Tested on MH4U and ORAS.
Seems like it can somehow detect I'm on emunand maybe?

ED: Turns out I it only updated to the pre-downloaded 10.4, after updating again I'm able to go online. So there's no problems afaik.

I CAN confirm I DID have DLC deleted after entering the eshop.
I have the DLC for Mii Plaza and after entering the eshop it was gone.
I had to reinstall the CIA and it came back.

Did it with both DLC I have installed from CIA.
I haven't tried SSB but that also had DLC via CIA so thats probably gone and needs to be reinstalled too.

No CIA installed games were deleted but it is certain 2 DLCs were deleted.

You CAN download a game updates as a CIA and install it.
