Homebrew It will be possible to downgrade from >10.3 some day?

I know it's not possible to downgrade if you passed FW 10.3.

But any hacker give a clue that it will be possible some day? Or with Memchunkhax2 patched, all the hope is gone?

Also, there's any news site that I can follow? Like for PSP/Vita scene I like to read wololo.net.

I also follow smea on twitter, but I want more pleases to look for info.

You could always stalk the Recent Content section of GBAtemp. That's where I learned of the 10.3 downgrade in the first place. (as well as the 10.4 update)

Just check GBAtemp daily, when something happens, the "Recent Content" section on the frontpage will be spammed with it. Wololo is a good source too, you can find 3DS' big news there.
As for your question of "Is it possible, and if yes, when?": we don't know. It is exactly the question hundreds of people asked before MemChunkHax2 (and downgrade) was released, and the answer will stay the same. The probability an exploit exists is practically 100% (no system on earth is or will be fully secure), but we can't say when an exploit will be found, and / or will be released. Might happen in 10 days or 5 years.
That's why I would recommend to assume the exploits we already have are the last one we'll ever get (even if that probably won't be the case), so you won't have to wait a year to downgrade. Just buy Cubic Ninja and install a CFW.

i am no hacker but i can say this exploits are not released until there is a new (better) one in the hands of the hackers or untill the unknown exploit is released patched. . . in the past smea has "warned" us not to update via twitter even though he updated his hax to work then released (by proxy of course) a way to downgrade . . . and his recent tweets again warn you not to update . . . i think its obvious he has a trick or two up his sleeve but the real question is how long will the wait be this time around last time cfw entrypoints were cut off (9.2) it was over 1 year until the 10.4 downgrade so i think you will be waiting at least that long for a new way in

It's programming, so it will be possible someday. My friend told me that some people had CFW on 9.3+ but didn't tell about the exploits. Another one had said there is a rumour about private exploits in 10.4. It's possible... someday. Time will tell.

That's exactly what I was telling you to do; buy Cubic Ninja, downgrade and install a CFW. At the moment, CFW are only available on 9.2 or less.

No, you can't use CFW or emunand if your system is at FW 9.3+. Cubic Ninja is just a good thing to have because if some exploit was found, you'd have an entry point.

I've downgraded 2 O3DS before doing on my N3DS, I didn't had to take out the SD, so I've freaked out when the error screen showed, I didn't find anything about SafeSysUpdater doing this, so I've done a hard shutdown, when I've restarted all I got was a black screen and nothing. After the restore I've read about removing the SDCard on the "Brick Reports" Thread.

I'm planning to sell this N3DS to someone and buy a new one.

After the downgrade, the system will reboot, if I got the Black nintendo error screen, what I have to do?

Nintendo Turn-off Blackscreen can either mean it succeeded and crashed because of the 10.3 menuhax payload not being compatible on your downgraded 9.2 firmware, or it softbricked.

Some people had issues with downgrading 10.3 N3DS where no matter what, they always wound up with a soft brick. The solution seemed to be to format their system (Potentially cleaning up some incompatible 10.3 bits) and redowngrade. I never had an issue, but it seemed to work.

Somehow I wonder if that's more of an extreme, and it's really just a file in the /Nintendo 3DS/ folder causing trouble with the downgrader.

Unfortunately it's probably more difficult to test without a 10.3 NAND.bin for a hardmodded 3DS, but it would be cool if we could isolate the problem.

Hmmm got it.

Since on the O3DS the menuhax payload didn't done anything I've automatically assumed that I've soft bricked my console.

So what exactly I need to do if I got on the Black Error screen? Remove the SDCard while on the error screen then restart the console?

People recommended me to use SafeSysUpdater. And I don't know why they say it works better on downgrading from 10.3.

My N3DS was on 9.6 but I hasn't safe on upgrading with SysUpdater, then I've tried downgrading from 9.6.
