One thing that has always stood out to me since the site updated is the bar in the upper right hand corner. The icons are of course useful, but the fact that they fit in that grey bar kind of stands out. Why not make the bar transparent and leave the icons? It seems like it would seem cleaner that way because the bar really stands out.

Maybe its a difference between the light and dark themes? On the dark theme it isn't transparent at all

If you remove the white background and the borders from the bar the username text clashes with the page and makes things behind and in front of it hard to read.

The icons can be made slightly transparent without issues, though.
So the username text would need a background/shadow for readability.
Like this (I also used padding, and border-radius):

I did that with Inspect Element but it should be possible with a Userstyle.

That looks alot cleaner. It'd be nice to see something like that

For anyone else that wants that I've made a similar theme. Link
You need Stylish to install it. Not sure if it works on anything besides Firefox.
It should probably work on Chrome. IIRC Stylish for Chrome automatically converts userstyles from the Mozilla format to the Webkit format.

I'd like it if the bar could be moved to the bottom. I'm dyslexic and find it helpful to scroll the line I'm reading to the top of the page to help track the line. The bar floating on the top gets in the way.

I love that issue. It absolutely summarises what I do when I read. Unfortunately I also get obsessed with clicking symmetrically (both on page position and mouse clicks), so then I have to start counting, and then I get distracted, and then I have to step away before I break the mouse... :ohnoes:

Anyway I would instead suggest the lock visitor bar option in
