I'm on 10.1 on an US o3DS via menuhax(memchunkhax2 seems to work well on mine, booting into linux 2 times in a row)
What is the absolute safest way to downgrade? Ik these facts:
* Use safesysupdater
* Check md5/sha256 anyways
* Charge the thing up, and plug it up anyways...
* Auto DNS

Wait for team Gateway, they might implement a safer and better way to downgrade.

One thing that will prevent a softbrick is to format the 3DS beforehand.
This will remove all of your data, but you wont be stuck on 10.4.

I know.
If you softbrick, you will be forced to update to 10.4
If you format before the downgrade, it lowers the chance of a softbrick.

I softbricked 3 times in a row trying to downgrade, and I fixed it by format, but that was when 10.3 was the latest firmware.

Its recommended that you take it out before the format.
