Hacking Just got a PS3 20gb CECHBxx w/ 3.21

Only got it because it plays PS2 games. It's been ages since I softmodded my ps3, can someone point me to a guide and files?

I found one on here but links were broken.

I have a 300GB HDD to upgrade, should I install CFW first before I upgrade the HDD or should I swap the HDD first?

Mount in your new drive, upgrade too 3.55 official firmware then goto rebug.me and grab the cfw to install via USB stick.

Install the new hard drive, make sure any games are removed from the disc tray first or it will pull the update from there.

Go to www.rebug.me and download the latest Rebug 4.76 REX CFW. Put on USB stick in a folder structure like this PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP ( You will need to rename the file you download )

While you are there, download the latest Rebug toolbox as well, once CFW is installed, go to install packages / standard and install rebug toolbox, open it and go to the far right and "toggle qa" make sure you enable it. Also while your in there enable "Cobra" and "Webman"

Cobra enables PS2 support among other things on non backwards consoles. Webman has a shit ton of options built into it. Too many to list, but it loads from memory and can be your game loader. Has Dynamic fan control, FTP access, and tons more. Google it.

Toggle QA, dehashes the console, so you can go up and down in firmwares without having to use a 3.55 downgrader pup.

Not shit you can do about that, other than changing the thermal paste on the IHS and under the IHS. I just brought a YLOD back to life by replacing the thermal paste under the IHS, but it's a bitch to get those bastards off.

Well that was just my experience, not sayings it a fact, my slim didn't make it three years, and my launch fat made it almost eight, might have been odd luck, who knows. I believe that both of the two previous models are superior to the super slims, as they are cheap and flimsy, comparatively.

Got a CECHL phatty (non BC, 80GB version)
It's been going strong for years, granted that in the summer it shoots high temperatures but with the newly replaced thermal paste it should last longer.
Once it YLODs, I'll reball it anyway.
