We are back again with another quick update! Here’s what’s new:

* Latest emunand support (10.4) for both o3ds and n3ds
* In-game menu fixed for certain games (Centipede)
* SAV backup and restore added again for CIA games and SaveDataFiler
* L button hex and decimal switch too fast fixed in exact cheat search

With the new firmware update we would like to STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST UPDATING your sysnand to any version higher than 10.3 (i.e. 10.4 or higher), as we will not be able to support sysnand firmware version 10.4 or higher anytime soon.

Currently there exist homebrew methods to downgrade from 10.3 to 9.2, allowing you to use your Gateway card already.
But the downgrade method is not recommended as it is error prone, dangerous and can lead to bricking.
We would like to provide our users with a more safe method, and this is one of the things we are working on.

This means you SHOULD NOT upgrade past 10.3, as you will miss the boat as they say.

That's a good news of hope for those who don't want to risk downgrading their <= 10.3 sysNAND. Although I wonder what would be their enytrypoint, HBL or their custom one...

Side note: anyone have issues with their Internet Browser freezing and locking up the system after updating their N3DS emunand from 9.5 to 10.3/10.4?

While the introduction of SafeSysUpdater has alleviated/eliminated the risks, many people don't know that SafeSysUpdater is out there and continue to use the more dangerous, more error prone method.

They're not necessarily wrong, although you're right, they're trying to defend their product.

This is just like when they said they'd support 9.2. The next update (released before they actually supported the new firmware) patched it.

But if they told people "oh go ahead, downgrade!" and then, despite the decreased risk, something goes wrong, Gateway gets blamed.
They're covering their own ass, and they're letting their customers know that they are working on a better solution.

Well, you going to see more posts now, as downgrading is one-shot attempt, it likely crashes during downgrade but mostly fixable in recovery mode to update back to 10.3 (when it was available until two days ago) and try again. Several attemps were required to successful downgrade (even those sometimes not stable at all).

Hmm yeah, but that doesnt mean that they wont release their dg method. I mean its in their interest for you to use a safe method so that they have as much <10.4 consoles as possible.
