Homebrew reinand on 9.2 N3DS every time I attempt to start it

I've been trying to follow this guide:

Every time I get to the stage where I need to open reinand, after the "press start" screen, it fails to load. I've tried several times, even formatting my 3DS and SD card to essentially start from scratch every time. I've tried with both the 2.1 reinand provided int he video description, as well as the 3.0 version released recently, neither seem to work.

One thing I did notice was that:

a) Unlike in the video, I only had 1 numbered folder in my Nintendo 3ds folder, but I haven't set up emuNAND yet so I assume that's the reason.

b) In the video, the filepath for reinand is for reinand.3dsx, whereas mine was reinand.dat. Changing the boot.cfg file to boot from .3dsx instead doesn't fix anything, unfortunately.

I've tried to change to boot time to 6 seconds like some suggested, no luck. I've tried rebooting several times, no luck. Google can only help so much, unfortunately.

Apologies for clogging the forum up with yet another technical help post, but any help would be greatly appreciated because I have zero idea on how to proceed from here.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Sorry, I know I messed up the title a little, apologies :s

Not having multiple folders means you haven't unlinked your NANDs yet, but you said you don't have EmuNAND setup yet (you're gonna want to do that by the way), so yeah you're right. Also, do you have the correct "firmware.bin" and is it in the right place? You can get it from the ReiNand Git provided the Dropbox link isn't dead, though Rei most likely keeps that updated. Oh, and not to nitpick, but wrong section. :)

Oh, really sorry if I posted this in the wrong section! Where would you suggest I post it instead?

I assume I have the correct firmware.bin, I used the one provided by the video. It's placed in the /rei folder in the root of my SD card.

Should have posted in the CFW section, but it's alright. Anyway, try getting the one from Github. Also, I have no idea if this can be used with SysNAND, so try setting up EmuNAND as well.

I used the firmware.bin from Github, still no luck = /

I assumed this worked on sysNAND since the tutorial goes through setting up emuNAND later in the video. I'll try setting up emuNAND and see what happens. Thanks for the help :)

Just to clarify, you're doing this on an N3DS running 9.2, correct (stupid question, I know)? Also, make sure you do NOT have menuhax installed when creating EmuNAND.

Yep, 9.2 N3DS. I've had rxtools before and got it working fine, but my SD card was ruined by faulty microSD to USB converter, so I'm just starting from scratch.

From the sound of it, I assume the lack of emuNAND is causing the issue, and I'm going to feel like an idiot if it's true :P I just assumed I didn't need it yet since it appeared later in the tutorial.

Again, thanks for the help!
