ROM Hack Did anyone manage to play Style Boutique 2? (strange bug)

Setup: N3DS US, 9.2 on both sysnand and emunand, using rxtools

I'm using the 3DS Simple CIA Converter tool to convert Style Boutique 2 EUR .3ds to .cia. I followed the tutorial and everything worked great. I made sure to check the FW Spoof box too.

Then I installed the .cia multiple times using both FBI and BBM but every time I try to open the game it gets stuck in the 3DS logo loading screen, the one that appears right after you open a game/app.

I also noticed that the "icon" of the game looks off, it's missing the logo. (left: how it should be / right: how my .cia looks)

What went wrong here?

I think I have installed about 20 different Style Boutique 2 .cia and none of them worked. I also tried FBI, I tried BBM, I tried FMP. Nothing. T____T

Other cia games are working fine.

Can you guys shed some light in here? I'm desperate to play this game, especially because it hasn't been announced for America yet.

Firmware shouldn't be a problem because that tool has a FW spoof option (I tried both 2D02: FW8.0-8.1 and 2E02:FW9.0-9.2).

When you say "eshop" you mean eshop exclusive? Because Style Boutique 2 was released at retail.

Can you link me to a cryptofix guide? I haven't tried that yet!

Oh sorry, I mean 20 different Style Boutique cias (using different cia installers, spoof on and off, etc).

I've no idea how it's done I've only had a quick read through a thread a while back. Use the search function on here to see if you can find any info. Or try google how to crytofix 3ds gbatemp and something should pop up. Sorry can't be of any help.

doesn't that usually indicate a region miss-match, as the console is trying to load up the banner for the console region but the game doesn't have it....iirc the new paper mario game did the same thing

Simple 3DS to CIA makes the CIA region free. I don't think that's the problem.

region free doesn't add in missing content, its like me joining a french forum, doesn't mean i speak french, it just means i ignored the "only join if you speak french" rule....if the game detects its running on a US console and it was converted from a EU rom it may be looking for files that simply do not exist,

try running NTR language plugin and spoofing to the region that matches the original game
i.e if your on a US console try running the EU english plugin....but imho you should just report your FW and region in the release thread and try confirm its a region issue, it sounds like it to me, but better to get confirmation so the thread can be updated to inform people it wont work for all regions

Is the plugin compatible with the latest release? (3.2) Or do I have to install 2.2?

1. I download NTR CFW 3.2 from here: https://github.com/44670/BootNTR/releases/tag/3.2
- bin in the root of my sd card
- installed the cia
- no problems here (i think)

2. Got the language plugin from here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-language-emulation-plugin-for-ntr-1-0-2-2.386543/
- plugin folder in the root of my sd card \plugin\000400000016A100\langemu_en_europe.plg (got the title id from here: http://www.3dsdb.com/)

3. Open the NTR icon in the home menu
- it says ntr cfw loaded successfully, press home, and so I did
- opened the Style Boutique icon and it's still looping in the 3ds logo screen, oh man...

4. Pressed XY to open the menu
- I don't see any "plugin" options in the menu, it says "NTR CFW 3.2" and some other options like process manager, enable debugger, set hotkey, take screenshot and realtime save (experimental)

What now?
