Why downgrading ?
Use MenuHax to launch Gateway at boot.

Ill get my gateway tommorrow and i wanted to ask something, do i need to have the gateway card (red or blue?) inserted to launch gateway mode?

for example, what happens if i start the new .3dsx gateway launcher from hbl without my GW card inserted, what will happen?

What are more things i should know?
I know that i should unlink my sys- and emunand

Without GW card inserted you will get GW menu.

Also unlinking nands is not required if you install HomemenuHax with option 1 (because themehax will not occur in Emunand without keypressed).

Got an old 3DS XL FW 9.2; I'm using the supercard DSTwo Plus; I get my 3DS roms to run great. My question is; is there any way for me to run any of the new pokemon hacks ( ie Drayano60's RR and SS hacks ) with what I have?

So i got my gateway today
And i wanted to launch gateway menu on my new3ds and only cubic ninja worked for me

I tried go.gateway-3ds.com and it just says "Loading Gateway" on the website and nothing happens, i also tried the Gateway.3dsx file in the HBL but that only kicks me to the homescreen..

What ways do i have?
I dont want to use cubic ninja everytime :/

You can't use the browser exploit on N3DS. Your only options are Cubic Ninja, Ocarina of Time, downgraded MSET (DS profile exploit) and smealum's several hax (http://smealum.github.io/3ds/). You can use the Homebrew Launcher to install MenuHax and then rename Gateway's 3dsx file into "boot.3dsx" (= MenuHax will load Gateway mode instead of the Homebrew Launcher).

I have some questions .

I downgraded the 3ds yesterday .

Using Gateway , i already did one backup of the sysNAND , installed and updated the emuNAND and tested some .cia games with FBI.
Seems all is going fine . (Still need to unlink the nands , forgot to do that)

For now , i just want to know if :

1 - Can i boot my 3ds direct (just after power on) in Gateway Menu? (Or in emuNAND)
2 - Can i install FBI (the .cia archive) and use it in the 3ds menu like it was a game ?
3 - And do the same with HBL (with Homehax or something) ?
4 - There is any other homebrew that i may find usefull with Gateway?

I got a gateway, but as it seems for me you sould be able to just use the patched rom files or maybe patched cia files whatever they offer, how do you get to this question?
Have you even tried or read ANYTHING?


So i got a new question too, since reinand got 10.3 emunand on N3DS i think gateway will get this too

But how soon?
How quick are they in doing/stealing/copying (i dont care, i just want 10.3 emunand ) those things?
Will this be within a week or so? How is your experience in gateway update speed? I am new to it

I have a japanese N3DS and an o3DS I had no problems getting Gateway to work, but this N3DS (US) on 10.3 won't load Gateway from the HomeBrew Launcher. Menuhax installed and will cold boot just fine but switching the boot.3dsx to the gateway version still just black screens.

Well that should be because your N3DS is on 10.3 and not on or below 9.2, you have to Downgrade first

I thought that may be the case but I didn't remember ever reading "emunand 10.3" support, just 10.3 and with the reactions on the board thought it was sysnand. Thanks for that.

The method is pretty new, gateway released the homebrew launcher like 1 month ago
i am using this method all the time, because its the most easy

you could also downgrade mset if i know right and launch gateway through DS profile settings, but that installs something in sysnand, this is tested i think but the homebrew launcher thing is the best in my mind
