I would like to know this, too. I've got way too much downloaded stuff to have to go and format.

Something left over from newer updates is obviously preventing the Home Menu from booting upon downgrading. Time to go digging. :V

You can redownload them if you want to once formated

Did you have homemenuhax installed? The payloads from 10.3 don't work on 9.2 and cause a black screen on boot.

Also but this is me just wondering I don't know if it actually could be a problem but I would assume people with the badge arcade could have a problem with the downgrade since badges on home screen didn't exist in 9.2

I'm getting the same error every time I downgrade. I really don't want to format because I have a bunch of eshop titles and don't want to lose my data.

No, I've used OoT3DHax, Ironhax, and Browserhax.

IIRC it is possible to use badges on 9.2, so I don't believe that is the issue. In fact, I didn't start using them at all until my 4th fail attempt. (out of 6)

I do have Home Menu layouts saved (which was 9.6), and am unsure if the 3DS might also store them within the NAND in some way.
