Question Easy way to tag someone in a post

Sorry for asking such a noobish question, but I've been on this site for over a year and never found an answer. I would have searched for the answer using the search function, but it doesn't allow searches for the word "tag" because that's under five characters.

Is there an easy way to tag someone in a post? I see people do it all the time, where the tagged user's name is a hyperlink. But short of quoting a post where someone has been tagged and editing the quote, or macroing the tag code to my keyboard and remembering users' ID #'s, I haven't found a way to do it using the post tools themselves.

Ugh. Now I remember! I recall it doing that before when I used @ in front of someone's name by habit. I forgot it did that since then because I was never really that active here until earlier this year. I've just been a lurker until recently, but now that I've started contributing, I couldn't remember how to tag people. Thanks @Xenon Hacks !
