Gaming Trick to play Mario Kart 8 without music?

Hi, I've been playing MK8 online with music playing on the laptop and as such the TV (game) sound is muted so it's very distracting because it's impossible to listen to the sound effects. Is there some kind of a trick to turn off the music of MK8?

yes. You can edit the (bfsar?) sound files and replace them with blank audio files.

Yep. You can create a dummy bfstm with no sound and replace every track, so the dummy sound plays instead of the music. There also might be a way to do this via gecko, but you'll have to search the address where the volume is stored, and that's pretty difficult.

Also bearing in mind you need to be on 5.3.2 or lower to do this.

I'm on the latest firmware and just use my Wii U to play Mario Kart 8 currently so guess I'll just stick to what I have now. :V
