Hacking any flashcart with similar sleep battery life to Cyclo evo?

Hey guys.

Ive been reading on here and Googling my brains out to find this answer over the last few days. ive come up with nothing, so i figured id finally make an account and see if i can get a good suggestion.

I own the Cyclods Evo and its still working amazing. It plays every game ive thrown at it. it goes for days on battery. But Worried that my Cyclo might die soon Im looking for a new cart. I grabbed the DStwo mostly due to all the praise on these forums. Sadly cant i sleep my DSlite with the DStwo before i go to bed because it will surely be dead by the time i wake up 6-7hrs later... in the same DSlite, playing the same backup ROM my Cyclo will go for Days!

I dont need any special features, save states, or any GBA emulation, etc etc... I just want a Cart that will play backup ROMs and get good batterylife.

I own a TTDS and it plays all roms I tried w/o any special procedures, plug and play. it lasts for 3-4 days for me on intense play (5-8 hours a day), so yeah... use it with YSmenu instead of a wood firmware. it runs all official and homebrew games (even pokemon black/white 1/2)

thats sounds exactly what im looking for! i see that cart is on NDS card dot com for really cheap.

is YSmenu the default firmware? or do i need to download it from somewhere?

you will need to download the YS menu from somewhere, I can even send it to ya via PM
you need anyway to install the FW from the net- it doesn't come pre-installed. all ya need to do is to copy-paste the YS/WOOD/original FW files into the sd card, then put your roms there and its done!
note that this card doesn't work with DSi/3DS, only with ds lite or the original. I own the lite and it works perfectly (with cheat support)

BTW buy the TTDS, not the DSTT, I know that its confusing, but, yanow. mine is white with black sticker and I use 4GB to store all of my DS,GBC,GB,NES and SNES games on it.

The problem with the DSTT is that there are
1. many clones and
2. it's not up to date (neither is the CycloDS Evo).

You may want to get an R4i Gold 3DS RTS (r4ids.cn) instead.

^ I second the R4i Gold 3DS RTS from r4ids.cn

It's a cart that functions perfectly and reliably. It doesn't draw any extra battery power for its CPU unlike the DStwo. It runs R4 Wood, which is a very stylistic and easily customizable firmware. I've had it for 4 years now with no complaints. Just make sure you download the firmware from r4ids.cn and nowhere else. Oh yeah, it's also way cheaper than a DStwo or most other carts.

2. AFAIK it's more pricy then the TTDS

the OP wanted something cheap that just runs games on DS, and TTDS is very reliable (5 years in my hands, allways playing and never needed any shitty things like battery replacement), and very cheap.

You can spot the difference between this R4i clone and other R4i clones. I'm not sure that that works so well with the DSTT/TTDS and it's clones.

1. the only clone of ttds is dstt, very easy to spot- the original is white, while the clone is black.
2. what latest games aren't supported? i played po. black 2 and it worked fine! ah and btw ttds is kind of r4, so compatibility is the same. except for 3ds support

the battery life in all R4's (or most of em) are pretty good AFAIK. lasts for more then 4 houers

There are not many differences in battery life any more. Every flashcard should give you about the same time.
