Hacking I'm getting a 3ds and I have some questions

So, today I'm getting a 3ds (O3ds on 7.1.0-16E)
I have been reading some guides and whatnot but I still don't really know what to do, from what I have seen I think I can get rxtools and then (after unlinking the nands or something?) I can update my sysnand to 9.0 - 9.2 to make it launch when the 3ds turns on, then get BigBlueMenu/DevMenu to install cias

- Does installing rxtools with the browser still work fine? Do I need to get a DNS or something or will everything work just following the guides? (Which mention nothing about the 3ds's internet connection)

- Is it a good idea to make rxtools launch with menuhax?

- Do I need FBI AND BigBlueMenu/DevMenu to install cias? If it is that way, why?, what do these do that FBI does not?

- From what I have read launching dsiware and vc titles isn't as straight forward as the other things and I need to install them on sysnand... Or something? I don't really get that part. Can I launch them from emunand if I install them on both or do I need to do something else?

- Is there something else I need to know?

follow this guide to a T.
nothing wrong will happen.

By the end of it.

you'll be able to :

Play CIAS(backups)
Play VC( any vc 3DS is capable of playing. - nes,gb,gbc,gba,
Custom themes/ install any official ones.
Upgrade EMUNAND to highest firmware to play latest games and visit eshop as well as play any game online. (NO WORRIES online with CIA.)
Unlinking nand is not a NECESSARY thing. but it makes playing DSIWARE/GBA possible. so it's pretty important to the overall ability the 3ds can do.
Among other things.

No you don't need both BBM and and FBI. I use FBI it works fine.
you only need to install DSIWARE/GBA to SYSNAND.

Follow that tut it will explain everything in much greater detail than the short outline I've given you.

I use menuhax. it's never failed .I just setup a 3ds for my brother for christmas. When it turns it on it will immediately run emunand lol
I tested it about ten times. didn't fail once.

@FBi/BBM: I'll recommend having both actually, because it seems FBI can't properly handle certain .cias for some reason. Custom theme .cias very often give me trouble in FBI as in they don't seem to really install correctly even though FBI says install successful. Tried deleting theme data in system management and all and then installing again and it just would not show up in my themes.
Then I installed it via BBM and it works 100% perfectly.

Rule of thumb use BBM or DevMenu to install any games or any .cias, keep FBI around for system titles if you ever need to.

Did you actually delete the theme title manually on SD card?
When I did that it works fine. Anytime i've run into that issue/bug. It seems to fix it. For some reason it keeps the same CTRL title name. And if you delete that DLC themes disappear. But reinstalling with FBI than works.

Not manually on SD card, no.
But I tried both deleting it from FBI delete titles option and deleting it from system management and it just would never work until I used BBM to install it.

Thanks for the help, I think everything is working now

sometimes when I turn on the console it doesn't get to the home menu and I need to turn it off and on again, but it ends up working, is that normal? it's kinda annoying (I set it up so it goes straight to emunand)

if it consistently boots to emunand your fine.
sometime black screen and restart is OK.

happens to me. (VERY rare though )
