Since we now have hans wouldn't it technically be possible to create a 6th gen remake of Diamond and Pearl. It would take a very long time to update the sprites but I think that it would all be worth it in the end. What are the chances of the happening?

While that is a good point, don't make it clickbait.
Add a '?' to the end of the title or something.

Didn't even realise the games were old enough for a remake since they are only 1 generation behind hardware wise.

I just wish there were tools like there were for Gen 3. Advance map.. god i loved that.
Yes, Gen 3 hacking was great.
It was so easy to get into, everyone was doing it.
Sadly Gen 6 hacking is not quite as easy cos it's 3D.

Want to see a map editor for Pokemon.
That would be great to add all the others regions in ONE game like Pokemon Gemme.

My question is. I want to start replacing music today. I have three weeks with nothing todo. How hard would it be to upgrade the ost?
Not very. You'd just have to convert the SSEQ files to WAV, and then to... uh... Whatever format Pokemon uses for music. I can't remember what it is right now.

A blessing and a curse, easy entry means that there's a ton of crappy hacks which usually don't get anywhere or boil down to "you get ALL da powaful pokeymanz and all the battles are super hard and there's brand new maps (AKA mapped horribly) and a totally original storyline". Some actually do "finish" despite this state though (cough Dark Rising cough) and somehow people still think they're good ROM hacks. That or it's ye olde "catch all the Pokemon" hack or just increased difficulty/variety.

In any case, Gen IV and V haven't even gotten hardly anywhere in terms of ROM Hacks so I'm highly doubtful VI will get anywhere any time soon. 3D creates a high barrier of entry, and unless someone designed a map editor specifically for Gen IV/V/VI it's unlikely to get anywhere. I do think something like that would be doable, somewhat, at least for IV and V since their maps are mostly terrain and the houses and buildings are separate models. You'd just need someone to actually do it.

I thought this would be about official remakes being possible. Of course they'll come, Cynthia is cool. I love her theme music too, so a new version of that would be sexy.
