Hacking Installing Pokemon X on a 4Gb sd card?

Is it possible? The way i've always done it is donwload the 3DS, turn it to a CIA and then install it through the console but since Pokemon X is so big there isn't enough room.

Are there any other ways to do it? Maybe some way to compress the cia file a bit?

You will probably have Enough space if you don't setup Emunand, in your situation I would install the legit CIA version of the game to your Sysnand, delete the CIA from SD (not the game but the actual CIA file), back up all the folders on your 3DS, then setup Emunand this way you will have the needed space for the initial install.

I don't use rxTools so I can't help you
Or what @Pingouin7 said use FBI while in patched Sysnand and install the CIA over network slowly if your desperate. You should be able to do this while in rx Dev Mode.

Don't really have to bother with installing to sysnand if they'd be installing via wifi in FBI, could just install directly to emunand.

The legit CIA version is better IMO you can play it without Emunand

Purely personal preference, emunand is convenient and allows easy access to eshop for updates and such.
You could only access online with legit updates installed, which you can't get without eshop access. Best not to mess with installing system titles to sysnand imo, and just use emunand for direct eshop access and be able to download the updates.

If you installed the updates as downloaded .cias online, then you'd have updates that can't be used unless you boot into pasta or rxmode sysnand which defeats the purpose of having the legit .cia in sysnand (that and you can play non-legit cia without emunand too, via pasta or rxmode sysnand, or even just devmode which is identical to basic pasta.)

Meh your right its up to preference I dont even bother with Emunand and just install everything to Sysnand I even installed the tiger and nver to my Sysnand now im on 9.2.0-28U

There is literally no downside of using emunand and its much safer than sysnand considering any fuckups you do not affect sysnand.

Also the fact you can autoboot directly to emunand and the fact than your homebrew and non legit cias will not load on sys without rxmode/pasta and if you using that you may aswell just go full emu

Yeah but your also the same person who says online play with non legit Cias get you banned.




But yes as pingouin7 said best options are installing it to emunand cia FBI over network (its 1.7gb)
OR installing to sysnand via SD without an emunand partition and directly booting to RXmode/Pasta until you get a larger SD card, they are really cheapr £6-8 for 32gb just got a 64gb for £11

I was going to give you a YouTube video on how to do this but the video has a link tp devmenu files. Just search on YouTube devmenu installation and a video by flare games should appear. Watch the video and install the .cia just like that guy in that video did.

4GB SD card ? so i guess it's class 4 and it's coming from nintendo ( Toshiba card ?)
class 4 on emunand is very slow

if his friend is wise enough he should at least buy a 16GB class 10 card.

haha yeah for the price it is for a card these days can easily get a 32gb class 10 for under £10
