Brought the Wii U to the hospital for my girlfriend. The internet connection won't work with the same tubehax info I use at home... Is there any way to make sure my system doesn't go to 5.5.5 in the next few days?

the tubehax configuration that I had working at the house does not work at the hospital. It won't allow connection with the tubehax dns, but I can connect with auto-obtain. That's why I'm trying to find a good alternative or figuring out why it's not working there. Of course I have no router access.

Will system updates still download if I change the downloading status to "pause"?

Oh boy that's an issue. Um. Do you have a laptop with you? If you do use the CCProxy method, because you won't be able to use OpenDNS either if the hospital is blocking use of DNS servers

How about use your Android phone to make a hotspot, and block the URL by modifying in /system/etc/hosts (if your phone is rooted)

What's wrong with your girlfriend?
We just had our 2nd child and she was wanting to play Mario Kart on the Wii U. We actually own that game :P

I agree that the android hotspot would've been a good idea. We are out of the hospital now, but maybe this will help someone else who has a similar situation. Thanks for all the replies.
