Super easy rxTools with r4 Flashcard on FW 4.x

1. Unzip “GATEWAY ULTRA 3.2.2 PUBLIC BETA”, move “GWINSTALLER.nds” into R4 microsd (TF) card.

2、Run “GWINSTALLER.nds” on R4

3. Proceed the steps “414” (picture below) to get into Gateway menu

Then select “Format Emunand”

Wait till it finished, then HOLD POWER BUTTON to turn off your 3DS



4. Unzip “rxTools v2.5 lb.rar”, copy rxtools.dat、firmware.bin and slot0x25KeyX.bin into root SD card. Also copy “Launcher.dat” from “GW_Ultra_3.2.2(Public Beta)” folder into SD card as well !

Then copy “rxinstaller.nds” into R4 TF card, Run “rxinstaller.nds” in R4 and press “A” button to install.

After it is done, it will indicate pressing “A” to turn off 3DS, then turn on 3DS


Use the steps 414 pressing sequence as in “Step 3” (above)




Make sure the EmuNand is in green color on the left bottom corner. If not in green, please re-runs all the steps above, select “Launch rxMod”, now make sure your FW shows RX-E, next connect to Wifi and update your firmware in EmuNand.

If error occurs, run the 414 steps again to get into EmuNand. (This is important, do not ignore)

Press “OK”, the above step is execute MEST.

After updating to RX-E 9.8, follow the steps below to use “FBI” to install CIA

o,so i bought a pokemon mystery dungeon gates to infinity and updated my 1.0.0e ods to 4.5. now what do i have to do?is there an easier way without r4?what is the asiest way? thnx (im asking this bcoz my r4 stopped working after i updated.

Nope, you need a DS flashcard, because you don't have a browser. If you can borrow one, do. Once you have CFW working you can install a file that will make your old R4 work again. Then you can give back the other one.

Yes - you can install the full 4.x firmware including the browser, which will let you install the DS profile exploit without needing a flashcart.
