Ok, so I used ModMii's guide a while back. I installed USB Loader GX, I loaded up a USB HDD with VC games, and Wii games. Things were working very smoothly. THEN, I decided to move the Wii to a friends' house to show off everything. Now none of the games work. They either reboot the entire system, or they crash on a black screen. I moved it back to my place, and the exact same problem persists. Furthermore, stuff that I classified as "Nand Channels" are now under "Emunand" and some channels have moved altogether from where they originally were. I have no clue what's going on.

I am a total newb, does this sound familiar to anyone and how can I resolve it? What steps do I need to show other information?

Did you plug your HDD into the wrong port? It needs to be in the one closest to the edge of the console.

The bottom port in this picture is the one you want.

syscheck is fine.

are you sure you didn't enable the wrong game's origin ?
top menu, 4th icon.
Enable "NAND" if you want to see the channels installed on your NAND, disable EmuNAND so you are not mixing both.
disable all categories (set ALL to check sign), favorite, etc. to be sure you are not filtering some games.

you said they were misplaced ? the loader doesn't allow user placement of the channels. They are sorted alphabetically, or by launch time, or number of player, or by number of stars, etc.
check the 2nd icon to change the order.

Bump, none of that stuff worked.

It's also doing the same thing on a new Wii I'm modding. I installed a lot of VC games to the system, and now most of the games boot back to the Wii home menu.

did you try launching these games directly from the system menu, not from USBLoaderGX?
are they working fine from the system menu? maybe the wad you installed are bad.

I don't know how to launch them from the system menu. and I know they're good WADs, they were working before this happened.

that's easy :
power your Wii
see that screen ? the official nintendo menu used to launh game's disc, and system channels, that's the system menu.
select the game you want to launch with your wiimote and select Start.

You said you installed them to the system, so that's where they are located.
if not, then you didn't provide correct or enough information and I can't help you correctly.

You also didn't explain what you mean with "misplaced". a game can't be misplaced inside USBLoaderGX.

I'm not an idiot...I mean the virtual console games don't show up on the system menu. they're on the EmuNand. I did NOT say I installed them to the system, I installed them to USB loader GX's EMuNand.

then, should we do it again from the start?
because what you said previously wasn't what I understood and you didn't answer my questions.

stuff that I classified as "Nand Channels" are now under "Emunand" and some channels have moved altogether from where they originally were. I have no clue what's going on.
are you sure you didn't enable the wrong game's origin ?

So, what are you classifying as nand channel ?
NAND is the internal wii memory. "NAND channel" is therefore the channels installed to the Wii using a wad manager.
That's why I thought you wanted to launch the official channels installed on NAND. you talked about nand channels.

USBLoaderGX can display and launch both channels installed on NAND and channels installed on emuNAND
now, I'll re-ask the question : did you correctly enabled the correct game's origin in the 4th icon on the top menu?

If you made a dump or your NAND to the emu path, then that's totally normal that you have these "nand" content now copied to the emuNAND.
they are not moved, they are copied.
that's all the purpose of the emuNAND, emulating the NAND by using a copy of the system memory on SD or USB. So you have the same content.

don't you see all your installed channels listed in the loader?
did you add new channels? if you did, how did you install the new wads to that emuNAND? internal usbgx was installer or Showmiiwads?

I'm still not sure to understand "they moved from where they originally were".
where were they originaly? were are they now?

The issue has changed from what it originally was. Ignore everything I said before.

The problem is this: I dumped my NAND to the EmuNand. Then I installed WADS to the EmuNand, using USB Loader GX. In the options where it says "Install WAD to EmuNand" I installed Virtual Console WADs. They worked fine. Then I continued to install many more. After about 50 or so were installed, most when booted send me to the Wii system menu, including the ones that previously worked fine. I don't know how else to explain it.

now I understood. thanks.

I think your emuNAND got corrupted. I don't know why, or how though, sorry.
There were some revision of the loader with a bug in the wad install menu, but if you use r1256 or newer that's fine. it's also fine if you use the old 3.0 (r1180) and never updated.

You can try to use ShowmiiWads to load all the wads, maybe it will detect bad ones.
Or maybe there were a bug in the loader and I'm really sorry but you'll have to re-do the dump and reinstall again.

users asked for a wad batch install option in the loader, but It could create such issues if the loader can't detect bad wads, or if install goes wrong and corrupt one emuNAND file.
