Free Multi Patcher was the solution for me. Granted I was trying to change my NNID on the SysNAND, not EmuNAND, but after trying various thing, including updating the NVER in the sysNAND, I was able to enter the NNID settings in the system settings menu, link my NNID without it bugging me to update my FW. Thanks so much for this info!

@andrexd when you entered FMP, did you make sure that any of the patches on the bottom screen were selected as On? I almost missed the bottom screen, and hit start without applying any patches since by default they are all off.

Something else you can try is loading into HBL and using HANS to run the NNID Settings app with the firmware spoof. This seems to be more reliable for me for most apps, but you'll need to reboot once you're done.

Well I'm not too sure what the issue is, you have a very similar problem to what I had. (Ha different NNIDs on my EmuNAND and SysNAND, wanted to play certain games in the EmuNAND like Badge Arcade, but couldn't due to the different NNIDs. I wanted to use my EmuNAND NNNID, so I reformatedmy SysNAND, but when I tried to set up a new NNID, I was getting the message to upgrade the FW.

The only real difference I can see is that you are trying to do it through the EmuNAND while I had to do it through the SysNAND, I see no reason why this should be an issue though, if anything I'd have thought doing it through the EmuNAND would be much more feasible.

However, having said that, it sounds like you used the Beta 6 release of FMP. I used the latest .5 release, I don't know if that difference could possibly make a difference, but it seems like its worth trying the .5 release instead of the Beta 6 release. I hope that works for ya!

How exactly did you manage that one? You can't tell me that you can access eshop on both.

When I first unlinked my NANDS, my new SysNAND had me set up a NNID, and at the time I couldn't remember my original info, so I set up a separte NNID. This was before the SysNAND required you be on the latest FW to set up your NNID. I'm pretty sure both could access the eshop, but I never used the eshop on both, so I honestly don't know.

I hate to break it to you, but NNID is tied to your console's serial number in Nintendo's servers. I bet your emunand is trying to use your old NNID and getting an error, because that is no longer your correct NNID. If you remember the info, you can remove the new one you made, then link your old one back up.

Dude, have you read my posts? I resolved my problem, I reformated my sysNAND, installed the latest NVER on to my sysNAND, and then used FMP .5 and was able to edit my NNID info in the setting to match my EmuNAND's NNID, so now certain games that needed my NNID that couldn't launch properly before like the Badge Arcade properly work. I already fixed my issue, so there is no bad news your breaking to me :)

The only real issue being discussed here is the fact that if you try to normaly change your NNID info through the settings on sysNAND or emuNAND on an older FW, it wont let you finish (this changed with one of the latest FW updates, din't used to be like that) without updating to the latest FW. However for me it seemed the combination of using the latest NVER and the patches in FMP .5 allowed me to edit my NNID info without upgrading my FW. Though honestly I'm not 100% sure I needed the latest NVER installed or not.
