I have and o3ds with sysnand ver 9.0.0-20E. I created an emunand for use with RxTools. I updated my emunand to latest firmware and everything was great but I decided I didnt want my sysnand cluttered up with all my emunand icons so decided to unlink my nands. I followed one of the guides on gbatemp that said to remove the sd card and format sysnand (didnt say anything about downgrading sysnand to ver 4.whatever or any warnings about possible NNID problems after). So I did that and my nands were unlinked which suited me fine until the release of the new firmware and the badge arcade. I updated my emunand to latest and tried to use the eshop on emunand to download badge arcade but was presented with the follwing error code 0022-2635. I am well aware what this error means and that it means my emunand NNID is now unusable. My sysnand NNID it appears is usable but whenever I try to access the eshop or try to change the NNID of sysnand it demands I update to latest firmware. Obviously I am not going to do that because I will lose all ability to run homebrew and CFW. I would like to know what options i have for my emunand? Can I blank my existing NNID on emunand and create a new one without a format? I would rather not have to reinstall all games and save files (about 32gb worth). Can I Blank my sysnand NNID and revert to using the emunand one to access eshop and badge arcade? I have read that there is a way to have unlinked nands on same NNID by the long process of backing up emunand creating a new one, downgrading sysnand to one that wont format the NNID formatting and then updating back to 9.0.0-20E. Then updating emunand to newest firmware (obviously reinstalling all my content I lost or inecting my nand backup into emunand). Is there any easier way? Have I f**ked up any hope of using badge arcade without losing homebrew capabilities?

I had an error sounding similar to yours, I just re set-up my NNID account on my SYSNand (I had only one, the same in emunand), my 3DS didn't ask for any update, and from there on, it worked... Have you tried re-entering the EMUNand e-shop after you fiddled with the NNID setting of your SYSNand ?

I cannot change the NNID on sysnand because it tells me I have to update so thats a no go. My emunand is unlinked it just gives me the error when I try to access eshop. No update prompt or anything. In the process of trying a full emunand format then injecting from backup.

Then maybe it asked for an update, but I guess I was eshop spoofing, which doesn't work anymore...
I would rather advise a SYSNand reinjection, and an emunand format, so you'll have a working NNID on both in theory...

Got my original problem sorted but now I have another. I formatted my emunand and managed to setup NNID and get badge arcade installed and working but now I realise all my saves for Mii Plaza, Face Raiders and AR Games are on the old emunand. I have a backup but not a simple case of copying over save files. What are my options now? I have one sd card with an emunand that works with eshop and badge arcade but no miiplaza saves and another card emunand with no eshop or badge arcade but all my saves for miiplaza (with almost complete picture quest).

Weird that it would ask you to update to set up an NNID, sadly I can't help you there since I followed a different process. Have you tried going to the eShop in the old EmuNAND after linking your NNID in the new EmuNAND? Maybe that did the trick.

For your current problem, your best bet would be to extract all your save files (and extdata for Streetpass Mii Plaza and a few other games) with SaveDataFiler and inject them back in your new EmuNAND.

Can you tell me how I can extract the saves and inject them with savedatafiler? I didn't think that was possible for saves stored in Nand. Unless you know something I don't

So can I transfer the save file with savedatafiler? Wondering if its possible to dump the exdata using HANS and reinject into my new emunand?

Strange things happening here. I booted into my old EmuNand and decided to have a go of running eshop. Up popped a message stating the terms of service for eshop which I okayed. Now my old EmuNand can use eshop and badge arcade and so can my new emunand; they are both on the same console and same NNID but different nands (by that I mean that they were created from different sysnands). Didn't think it was possible! Anyway have one nand with miiplaza saves the other without but both are working with eshop and badge arcade. Just a thought would it be possible to just copy the extdata from my old emunand to the new one to get my miiplaza save files .

I think we are really having cases that Nintendo didn't plan at all, so the system behaves in the most weird way possible xD

Because when you formatted sysnand, it probably connected to the internet to tell nintendo this NNID wasn't linked to your system anymore.
Then when you tried accessing eShop using it on emunand, which still had it linked, it gives you an error because, according to Big N's servers, your NNID isn't linked to that 3DS.

Best way I've found to fix this is,
Make an emunand backup + SD card backup (Your Nintendo 3DS folder associated to your emunand)
Format emunand in System Settings
Go in NNID settings in newly-formatted emunand
Re-link your same NNID in that newly-formatted emunand
Restore your previous emunand backup (and restore Nintendo 3DS folder data so you can get your games back exactly the way they were before.)

This "refreshes" it on Nintendo's end so your NNID is linked to your 3DS again.

The emunand wasn't linked. That's what makes it even weirder. I may try and reproduce this with blank sd's and video it because I'm scratching my head on this one.

The reason is because when you perform a system format, it connects to Nintendo's servers and notifies them that the NNID is unlinked from the console, so the change is reflected on their servers.

Then, once you tried to use the NNID with your emuNAND, your console still saw the NNID as linked but Nintendo's servers saw that it was unlinked, and refused the connection.
Then, when you went and relinked the NNID on a new emuNAND, Nintendo's servers updated to reflect that. So now their servers will no longer refuse NNID login from the old emuNAND, since they recognizes the NNID as linked to that console.

It doesn't matter if it's on a "different" NAND (as in, a system format was performed between the old emuNAND and the new emuNAND), as a system format only deletes certain files from the NAND, it doesn't change the identity of the console. Nintendo's servers still recognize it as the same console.

So it would be easiest to continue using your old emuNAND now that you have sorted out the issue. I'm pretty sure Mii Plaza extdata is stored in NAND which I don't think homebrew has access to. SaveDataFiler may be able to access it though I don't know about that as I've only ever used SDF for SD card data.

nands were never linked. As soon as I created a emunand from sysnand I would format the sysnand. That is what is weird because I tried to sign in on my emunand first after formatting sysnand already reading that it was the way to go if I wanted emunand eshop access. I got the NNID error and that's what promoted me to go through all the palava of setting up a new emunand with NNID access. Now I have 2 separate emu nands both on the same NNID and both on the same console but with different miiplaza save data. Really weird!

I'm also on an unlinked EmuNAND, but I'm on a N3DS, so the EmuNAND FW can't be any higher than 9.5. As such when I try and play Badge Arcade, when it starts up and tries to load my NNID, I get the error code: error code 0022-2634 which according to Nintendo's help: You are unable to access features that required a Nintendo Network ID, such as the Nintendo eShop and Miiverse, and you are unable to access your Nintendo Network ID settings.

I figure that this is due to my EmuNAND not being the latest FW, is there any type of trick or spoof to play this game on an EmuNAND for N3DS that has FW 9.5 or lower? Would really love to get the added flair in my home menu that the Badge Arcade can provide.

Error 0022-2634 is caused by what has been explained above by Jdbye

Because when you formatted sysnand, it probably connected to the internet to tell nintendo this NNID wasn't linked to your system anymore.
Then when you tried accessing eShop using it on emunand, which still had it linked, it gives you an error because, according to Big N's servers, your NNID isn't linked to that 3DS.

Best way I've found to fix this is,
Make an emunand backup + SD card backup (Your Nintendo 3DS folder associated to your emunand)

Restore your previous emunand backup (and restore Nintendo 3DS folder data so you can get your games back exactly the way they were before.)

This "refreshes" it on Nintendo's end so your NNID is linked to your 3DS again.

That being said, because you are on 9.5, you'll probably have to do some tinkering to get NNID stuff working again because you aren't on >10.2

So if I'm understanding you correctly, somehow my NNID on my SysNAND and EmuNAND both have to be the same. Is there any means of altering this info without updating my fw or either the sysnand or emunand??
