Recently I purchased a used N3DS off Craigslist with FW 9.0.0. With this purchase, he also gave me the following carts: Black/Blue Gateway (DS form), R4i RTS for 3DS (DS form), White/Red Gateway (3DS form), and a Sky3DS (3DS form). By 3/DS form, I mean the cartridges with the extra protruding piece on the top of each cart (3DS) vs the ones without (DS). As far as games go, I have a few DS games, but none 3DS ones yet. I have managed to get Cubic Ninja running on the Sky3DS cartridge however.

Anyways, the point of this post. I want to be able to play ROMs of old games, such as Pokemon RBY, GSC, and RSE. Primarily, the point of this purchase was to play the entire series of Pokemon. I plan on buying several of the new Pokemon games as well, but in the mean time I'd like to be able to run them pirated as well. Whether it's via CIA or ROM, I'm not sure what difference it makes. I'd like to also battle my friends in these games, so some form of online connectivity should be enabled. I'd like to install all of these games to my 64GB microSD card. And is dumping games off of their cartridge possible as well? Regardless, I'd like to know which CFW is the most optimal for this setup, and a nice guide on how to do it.

I've been trying to install Reinand's but I've been getting stuck in a few stages where the steps don't match what I currently have, or the screen just going black when trying to perform a certain operation, forcing me to restart my N3DS.

EDIT: One other thing I'd like is to have a very simple process of starting this CFW, such as through Themehax maybe? I'm not exactly sure on the details of everything in the hacking scene yet...

the gameboy ones you can get as vc games and install them as cia (might want to wait till nintendo releases there versions of them so you can trade using wireless)

gba ones you should use rxtools

ds ones use the r4i

3ds ones use your gateway card or rxtools and download them as cia files

1st thing you want to do is set up a emunand you will need to launch your gateway menu using cn

set up mset so you can boot gateway with out cn

unlink emunand and sysnand (go to settings and format/reset one of them it does not mater what one)

update emunand to 9.5 (uses sysUpdater)

then install rxtools (https://gbatemp.net/threads/rxtools...rom-browserhax-homemenuhax-to-rxtools.398420/)

i do not want to write out every step for this stuff just look at https://gbatemp.net/forums/3ds-tutorials-faqs.234/ you will find most of it

then download games from a iso site i can not say the name of

OK so for the RBY and GSC you can play them if you have cubic ninja and the homebrew launcher. just search on the net for "gameyob for 3ds" and download it. then place the *.3dsx and the *.sdmc files by the same name in their own folder under the folder "3ds" in your micro sd (the one inside the console itself). then place your GB(RGB) and GBC(GSC) in a seperated folder in the root of your sd.
to run it, use nijhax (google it) and in the menu of it you will see "gameyob". click it and select your GB/GBC games. enjoy!
now for CFW, whats your system version? in the settings on top screen lowest- rightmost corner to long number. write it here.

Sorry didn't notice. So the best cfw is rxtools- it can play dsi/gba/vc games. The gba don't run in full speed, but whatever...
So with HB you can run GB(c) games, with r4 you can play ds games, with GW you can play 3ds games, and with vc you can play GBA. Just search about VC on this forum...

Hello.
He said that he is on N3DS so... Rxtools doesn't work.

If you want an easy peasy option you can take a look on Pasta CFW !

GBA doesn't run full speed? What? It runs natively on hardware.
