Forgive me,I meant emunand, not CFW. Recently, I read that when installing unsigned CIAs on emuNand, you cannot access them from sysNand. My first question is: Is this true? What I mean is, could some one install New Super Mario Bros. 2 (referred to as NSMB2) on emuNand (referred to as EN), and not be able to play that game on sysNand (referred to as SN) if they have not purchased it legally on the eShop on that console. If it is true, can you access it by using HANS? Because HANS checks for installed content on the 3DS to run it in user land, not the console, could HANS run CIAs not accessible via SN in homebrew? I personally do not have a <9.2 3ds :hateit: to test this on, I would appreciate anyone who is willing to help!

Let me know if I posted this in the wrong section.

your question is confusing as i belive it is based on a bit of incorrect info
cias installed to emunand appear in sysnand as well unless nands are unlinked
if unlinked then you need to install them to sysnand to use them there . . .
. . . but why install them to sysnand that's ignoring the safety net that is emunand just install them to emunand and play them from emunand

Let's say the nands are linked. Could I open a CIA I installed on emunand on sysnand.
Here is the example I came across (Don't remember where I got it):
The user of the 3ds was distraught because he had gateway installed and devmenu and all that kind of stuff. Given what you described, his nands must have been linked because he could see all CIAs installed from emunand on sysnand. He lost his gateway card and didn't like rxTools. He had asked if there was any way he could bypass the fact that he couldn't load the CIAs installed via emunand, on sysNand. He eventually used rxTools because no one came up with a different solution.

I was wondering if you could load the CIAs installed via emunand through homebrew (HANS). This would provide a solution for him and possibly others.

If you have any other questions referring to my question let me know. :D

in my opinion its best to have unlinked nands, leaving linked nands are going to lead to trouble in the future.
that being said..
if you are nands ARE linked, if you install a cia game in ether emunand or system nand it will be accessible from both nands BUT if the game is not signed aka "legit cias" it will NOT launch in sysnand unless you apply patches or a CFW.
Now "legit cias" if installed on a linked nands will launch in any nand and without cfw.
if your nands are Unlinked as they should be any game installed, legit cia or not will only show up and launch in emunand if installed in emunand and only in sysnand if installed in sysnand.

I know what you are saying, but my question still remains. Could you launch the unsigned CIAs via HANS because it runs in user land, not the system. If you have both emunand AND *hax 2.5 installed, it would be appreciated if one could test this.

this is where i am confused again how can viewing a limited amount of icons at once with hans be better than rxtools allowing you to view as many as system menu allows and rxtools can autoboot so all you need to do is power on and bam emunand

I don't have emuNand as I arrived late to the party ;( . But as I stated in my earlier reply.

This guy has linked nands (inferred due to his description). He absolutely hates rxTools (again inferred due to his description). Maybe he could launch them via HANS. if I had emuNand I wouldn't have posted this.

I know right...

I know but as I stated, he hates rxTools, I don't know why, I am not his mind. I would prefer it but he seems to think that "rxTools is a rip off of gateway and just wants to make them suffer as a company" (best I can remember)

from what i remember
theme hax doesn't work on linked nands. (not sure if fixed)
whats you 3ds model and version?
i dont know about HANS other then wishing there was a cia version of that.
and that im not sure it would run unsinged game in userland seeing how userland cant launch anything unsigned.

Personally, this whole thing makes me think he is retarded and that he could do other things like pasta CFW, but it gets me wondering.

1. Again, I don't have emunand but if you must know it is 10.1U
2. Yep, that is all I wish for HANS but it was recently released as open source, it might be possible soon.
3. I am pretty sure you just answered the question of the whole discussion there

you're not able to run unsigned code (games/app/etc) because you are in emunand, but because you're in signature check patched mode (cfw mode/gw mode). even without emunand, as long as you're in said mode you can run those unsigned codes (pasta run on sysnand, other cfw and gw too).
so no, hans won't make you be able to magically run installed unsigned games if there's no signature patched.
