Is it possible to launch Pasta CFW from Gateway EmuNAND and if so how?

Why would anyone want to do that anyway? I'll post why later so as not to detract from the question.

Cheers

Have a cia install of old ironhax or cubic ninja with the hax exploit linked inside.
You can use this to boot you into the homebrewmenu to launch pastacfw, or more simply use CtrBootManager's boot.3dsx instead of the homebrewmenu boot.3dsx to launch a CFW more directly and with greater compatability than 2.5 HBmenu alone.

If you told us WHY you want to do this it'd be easier to give a route more tailored to your specific needs.

Probably, but I don't understand why this would be necessary for your setup.
If you're in a CFW that can already run unsigned code why would you want to chain yourself into a second CFW?

Again, if you told us WHY you want to do this it'd be easier to give a route more tailored to your specific needs.

Why don't you just install a Cubic Ninja cia in sysnand and use PastaCFW from there?

PstaCFW will always boot into sysnand, so if your intention is install it in emunand so you can use it in emunand it won't be possible.

Anyways if you have updated emunand you can't neither because the kernel it's patched in your updated emunand.

You must remember that GW used the latest firm launch in their emunand so when you HBL it will run with 9.6+ firm making pasta not run. What you need to do if you boot through mset is update to 9.0-9.2 and use menuhax to direct boot into Pasta.

IMOP thats the easiest

This only works with n3ds, o3ds mset doesn't work with GW

O3ds you should autoboot into pasta then use the web exploit

Well what I would prefer is to be able to chose between Gateway EmuNAND and Pasta CFW after turning on the system, but I don't think there's anything around yet that can do that. I want to be able to play GBA games using the new AGM_firm patch on N3DS (which needs Pasta CFW apparently).

I gave you a solution if you have a n3ds

I don't know if the gateway launcher is supported, but rxtools can run gateway emunand just fine, and you can use CtrBootManager booting from the homemenuhax(themehax)2.5 exploit to let you choose between rxtools, homebrewmenu 2.5, or pastacfw to launch.

Install homemenuhax, install CtrBootManager, use it to boot into whatever you need.

There is an easier way, set up Menuhax with ctrbootmanager and use that to launch rxTools into sysnand. That way you don't even need to install the patched AGB Firm because is not needed with rxTools anymore.

Agreed, this is a better setup.

thats what this is for CtrBootManager: 3ds boot manager/loader (HomeMenuHax)
sadly it cant autoboot gateway mode

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
