OP
So my parents are buying the wii for the "that dancing thing" lol. So can some1 explain me all the hacks known today to play roms? I mean all of them. I can burn any amount of DVD disks for this sake, and I do have some very large flash drives. So...
1. What are all the ways to run physical roms on it? What are the limitations of each way?
2. Same thing, for digital versions of games. (IDK if there is such a thing)
3. What's the size of the biggest wii game in GB?
4. What are the free ways to hack the wii(w/o additional hardware)? How to run HB?
5. What can I do with it if I accidentally update it to latest fw?

EDIT:If some1 can send YouTube links for all the questions Ill really appreciate it

WiiU? Or just the Wii? If you update to the latest on the Wii you'll be good. Nothing is patched anymore. If you're talking about the Wii;
1. HDD with some USB loader.
2. WAD installer.
3. 10.5GB That's the biggest ROM I've stumbled upon. ( Why the heck do they need that much stuff for a game...?)
4. LetterBomb please.hackmii.com
5. See top of my post.

3. What? Smash is 7 GB and I don't know any bigger game. What game is it?

4. Do you really think a noob will know what to do with it? Yeah, you install HBC, but then what?

I don't recall the name. I have it on my HDD it's said to be 10.5gb.
Get HB, then go online and get Nintendon't; It's a Gamecube rom laoder ( Just in case you want to play those games. )
Get Usb Loader GX: Get a USB on hand at least 8GB. 4GB isn't enough to store multiple ROMS.
Get some ROMS. I don't care how you do it, just get some and test the loaders. \
You'll need to patch IOS 236.
You'll need to install and stub IOS 249.
I cannot guide to these. I do not know how on my mind.

Actual ISO size would be 4.7gb or 9.4gb...
Actual game size metroid trilogy is the largest at 7.45gb.
The guy talking about 10.4gb game is referring to a torrent download that is a multipack game that actually wasn't originally a multipack. The downloaded size is 10.4gb but each game is quite smaller.

@ the OP once you perform the letterbomb exploit to your wii. (God I hope it's a wii if it's a wii u then DO NOT use the letterbomb exploit)
Then report back here. This way you don't accidentally follow an outdated video and screw it all up.
There is a 2015 guide to softmod your wii on this forum....Hmm. I'll get it. Yay I found it.

If you don't want live advice then check this thread out. Otherwise, when you use letterbomb hit us up on this thread and many of us can assist with getting everything you want on the console. As far as posting where to get my backups.....(torrent sites thats where I store mine)
Those things cannot be posted on this site as it is forbidden. GBATemp does not and will not condone, assist, or any non mentioned form piracy on copyrighted products. Thus all users posting such forbidden links or other copyright violating methods will be subject to suspension and/or banning of users account and IP. Lol, in situations like this Google is your friend. Clients such as bittorrent and qbittorrent will be needed to aquire such things.
But for the actual ISO the best method is to google search Wii ISO torrent download.

I'm not as Noobish as you think I am. It's a decrypted ROM with some content added. ( That content makes up about 500 MB ) So around 10GB or 9.9GB

I still think Modmii is the best thing to use.
http://modmii.comuf.com/
You download it, answer few questions (version, region etc.) and it downloads everything you need and generates a guide for you.

Sorry, that ROM I was speaking of was Smash and it actually had more stuff added into the ROM than I thought. It's total was 8.1 GB. But at least that didn't play an importance to this tutorial for this guy.

I never used modmii. But it sounds pretty cool. Just looked at the site and other than my web browser telling me I needed to get the hell outa there looked pretty straight forward. Probably the absolute best thing for a new user to use.
I don't know though I disc exploited mine. And am currently working on a usb method so I virginized my wii. When I am done maybe I'll virgin my wii again and use the modmii site....
(probably not though when I am done it may get sacrificed for the greater good of the mini community)

Modmii is pretty good tool.

This one feature is just amazing.

sysCheck Updater
You can supply ModMii with your unique sysCheck.csv log and ModMii will analyze it then notify you which specific softmods you're missing. It will download only the files required to update your softmod as well as build a custom guide for you to follow. You can analyze a log by dragging it onto ModMii.exe or a shortcut for it.
