Homebrew gpsp vs mGBA for a new 3ds xl without kernel?

Gpsp runs at full speed but requires bios files, MGBA on the other hand is bios free and is more customizable and supports gyro controls for wario ware twisted (correct me If I am wrong) but is slow for many games.

Is there any downsides to using bios files?

For 3DS you are better off using gpSP at the moment.
mGBA for 3DS is still in beta being developed with nightlies every day, so it might surpass gpSP one of these days. :)

I'm on N3DS XL and every game I wanted to be emulated played at just about max FPS with mGBA. When I used gpsp, the first game I attempted to play lagged hard.
