I was talking with him about this and it seems that there's nearly no latency in this setup - he was able to play some good games of Smash Bros without any issues.

At first I thought this was some hardware mod. But apparently its being transferred over wifi from a computer

Makes Sense, so any controller should work really... Xbox One Controller + Monster Hunter! I can dream...

Edit:
Video is already 5 months old... not expecting it soon then, mention of porting to NTR in the description though.

I detailed how it was done at http://douevenknow.us/post/139673444953/redirecting-3ds-input-over-wifi, but it's just a technical description and not a tutorial. If a CFW dev wanted to implement this, I gave enough information that it could probably be doable by @cell9 or someone else. Main issue at the time was that there was no ARM11 process except NTR used by CFWs (all of them used some crappy arm9 memory scanner) and I wasn't really experienced enough with NTR to know how to port this as a plugin (if it even could be). I'm not sure if plugins can run in the main loop at all or not with NTR, might need to be implemented in it's core.
