I'm on an EU N3DS on 9.9.0-26E firmware with Homemenu Hax installed already. I have an older version of Homebrew Launcher installed, but I don't know how to update to the latest Homebrew Launcher to access and utilize the features of HANS. Could someone point me in the right direction? I've been searching for a while with no clear tutorial.

If I installed themehax with an older installer, is it necessary to re-install themehax using the installer 2.0?
Nope you can either look for the updated Themehax installer and install it through current Themehax or do it manually by following the steps on the guide above.

Cool thanks. I recall there being some kind of auto-boot installer too, that automatically boots to the homebrew launcher. I'm going to try to locate that instead.

The MenuHax 2.0 installer lets you configure how it will boot. Autoboot or key-press boot. It also lets you select a splashscreen to display while loading (instead of the static snow)

If you want to update the Homebrew launcher then I suggest replacing your outdated boot file with a new one from smealum a starter kit.

https://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/starter.zip

If you are talking about updating your *hax version to 2.5 then there are other ways to manually do so such at downloading the ropbin file for your system from

http://smealum.github.io/3ds/

Under the otherapp/Ropbin payload select your firmware version for your particular 3DS.

Rename it to what the Ropbin file on the root of your SD card is called. Then backup the Ropbin that is on your SD card somewhere and then replace it with the new Ropbin file.
