I just tried it! I bootet HBL, then Cake-CFW and in the Settings i said "load emunand" - i didn't checked the signature patching.

Then i booted in my emunand and FBI was there (was definitly my emunand cause on my sysnand are 2 more cias than on my emunand installed). FBI wasn't startable but thats because of signature checks i guess. So yeah - i have in emunand access to FBI.


Edit2: This is now so freakin awesome - cake-CFW ftw I disabled signature Checks in Cake-CFW Settings and now im able to load emunand without signature checks

yup thats because your nands are still linked (share a single folder that the 3ds saves most all apps to.) (dsi and gba titles go to your systems nand). when you unlink them in the fashion you described (or any for that matter) the one you format will abandon the folder and create a new one (to unlink you need to do these steps from the desired nand this quote assumes you want to format sysnand)

How to unlink nands:
1. In sysnand, go to System Settings -> Other Settings -> Format System (Do not accept yet)
2. Eject your Sd card (don't worry, it is safe)
3. Accept to Format your 3DS/2DS (let it connect to the internet if it asks, it will not update your system)
4. After it reboots, go through the setup screen and set everything up
5. Once in the home menu, insert back your sd card and let it create some files on your sd card.
6. Your nands are now unlinked, and there are 2 ID folders in your Nintendo 3DS folder on your SD card (one for emunand, another for sysnand)

How it will look on your SD card:

The folder with the smallest size belongs to your sysnand, since you just formatted it. Grab the database zip again and put the title.db and import.db in YourSysnandFolder/RandomNumbersAndLettersFolder/dbs, Don't forget to go to Data Management in Sysnand to let the 3DS "repair" your software management information!

so after you do you will no longer have access to fbi in the one you format but i believe you installed it with browserhax once before and can do it again but i don't think you will be able to in emunand on n3ds it is safest to do it to sysnand as you already have experince "now" in setting up cfw so it should be simpler (most of the work is done you just need brwoserhax-fbi-cubic ninja-ninjhax-themehax again) because you eject the sd card it wont erase a thing (they will be left for emunand) and it is easy to uninstall themehax from emunand if your themehax still called it themehax all you need to do is put any theme on emunand if its menuhax you can uninstall it from the installer in hbc

Ah alright. So either way it depends on which nand i format...

Altough I will have to redo the hackathon (you where right with browserhax) from the beginning, either for emunand as for sysnand...

Shouldn't really take long now, thats right, because the micro-sd is set up with everything else....

Rereading this, formatting Sysnand is definitely the nand i should format, since i wanna use emunand as the main-nand.

Ok, I just spent the last 5 hours browsing the forums, trying to teach myself about rxTools, PastaCFW, Browserhax... I need help.

I have an old 3ds, firmware is 9.2.0:20EU. I have ninjhax 2.5 installed. I think I'm on SYSNAND because I've never done anything like installing custom firmware. I just bought ninjhax a year ago and never updated the 3DS.

I've read all over the forum that 9.2 is a great firmware because you can get kernel access which allows you to run the/a GBA emulator (or just GBA games) at full speed. That sounds awesome, because they currently are still unplayable. The problem is, I'm completely, 100% lost at this point.

-I've tried installing PastaCFW (normal one and beta one) but I keep getting blackscreen if I load it. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm on ninjhax 2 and not 1, but I can't seem to find a working download mirror for a different pastacfw version.
-I read that Pastacfw has merged with rxtools and is not being worked on anymore. I decided to visit rxTools and it tells me I need to use the browser as entrypoint. I take it that means I need browserhax. I'm not up to date with all the 'hax' anymore (no idea what Browserhax and Themehax are, but judging from the name they're entrypoints through browser and theme manager) I found http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax.php telling me all about Browserhax, but I currently can't connect my 3DS to the internet (I'm in Africa, which means no wifi, which means hotspotting my laptop with a 2g dongle and praying that internet will work 'today'.)

So I'm kind of stuck, until I get my wifi to work. What I'd like to know is;
Am I going in the right direction here? Are there any steps I need to take that I haven't? What's the easiest way to go about this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does a Gateway/Dstwo+/Sky3DS only work on 3DS's that are on 9.2 firmware or under ?
Or will they work on above firmware(9.9) but only play games that need 9.2 or below ?

in that case try this version of rxtools RxTools Nightlies by @WhoAmI?
and then if you still fail try the build at the bottom of this link RxTools Nightlies by @WhoAmI?
also how big is your sd card?
because rxtools is missing the initialization step on n3ds i dont think it creates things it needs for this task see this post for a list of what is missing in rxtools on n3ds#12857 there is a reason the guide says to use gateway

I cant try right now, but I'll try asap. I'm using a 32GB SanDisk Ultra with FAT32 formated with default options using the MicroSD Assossiation tool.

i first read this before you made that edit i see all gateway launcher needs itself and your sd card if gateway launcher wont work then your sd card is to blame that or your internet connection (sometines it wont recive the signal in time your sd card speed may effect this ex: class 4 32 gb if still only class 4 speed) try another sd card

gateway launcher would not work on my 16gb class 10 hp sd but worked with the 3ds stock class 4 4gb sandisk
i dont know why but its best to just try another sd card

You don't need the cart to use the launcher. The only things you can't do without the cart are booting into Gateway and Classic Mode.

Thanks for the reply. The only reason I bought from them was that it was delivered inside the EU as stated on their website,I suppose I'll have to pay a customs charge?

I got the tracking to work,says it has been in transit since 31/10/15. Also it doesn't say on the website that it won't play 3DS games? It does say the card is compatible with FW 10 on the 3DS.

Theres no customs charge under £18 i think, tracking it hangs around in china fair bit before leaving
Yea, also doesnt say it will play 3ds roms!!
There's only a few cards which plays 3ds games (confusing on purpose to sell old cards) these will play DS games on your 3ds.

For 3ds games you need mainly either a SKY3DS or gateway, few others too, look them up first pros and cons to either route.

So, I just bought something from nds-card and got to a page saying "Your payment has been submitted,

And it didn't do anything alse for 2 hours now.
