Praise the lord @T-hug there is no need for a riot!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Today is Wednesday the 28th. Thursday is the 29th. Still, I can't wait to see what the game will be like! I normally can't stand smartphone games, but Nintendo might change my mind.
I only really play rhythm games on my smart phone. If they did a port of rhythm thief for ios. My life would be complete

The concept of smartphone games is perfectly fine. The thing is that you have no buttons, so you have to to come up with something that works fine with only touch screen controls. A plain old Mario port wouldn't really work. People who play smartphone games also tend to play them for only a few minutes at a time, so for your game to do well you basically need to have something that has "rounds" of a few minutes, or naturally lends itself to often pausing mid-level and continuing later. Then there's the fact that most smartphone games are free or 1$, so if you want to make a smartphone game with a big budget, you can't really sell it at a high price. People just won't buy it if they can buy 20 1$ games for the same price. So that only really leaves you with microtransactions as your main way to earn money.

Mario Kart would work well on Smartphones with the gyro controls. But I don't expect them to sell a Triple A Console staple game for iOS/Android. Not yet anyway. The pricing will be absolutley paramount. If they think people are going to spend £30 on smartphone games they've got a shock coming. Nintendo are good at innovating so i expect this game to be quite innovative and use smartphone games in a way not implemented yet.

Not really. Nintendo owns the Pokemon franchise, but Game Freak are allowed to develop other games for other systems.
I don't think Nintendo actually owns the Pokemon franchise... They may have GameFreak under a temporary contract so that they can't produce Pokemon games on other systems, but I think GameFreak has sole creative rights

There mainly on nintendo consoles but gamefreak the creators of pokemon are there own company. They can do what ever they want.
Game Freak didn't make Pokemon Shuffle. Nintendo outsourced it to another company.

GameFreak is a 2nd party dev

Game Freak isn't Pokemon though. Pokemon is owned by The Pokemon Company, which is a subsidiary of Nintendo.
Game Freak only makes the main handheld Pokemon series.
