Hacking Just upgraded my new batch DSTWO into a DSTWO+

I'm not sure if anyone has read this on the Supercard's forum. But it seems the recent batch of DSTWO that were sold are actually DSTWO+ in disguise. How would you know if you bought this batch of DSTWO? DSTWO has been out of stock for a while, if you managed to buy yours within the last few months there is a high chance it is the DSTWO+ batch. Turn your cart behind and check if the cart is held together with a screw. If not, then this should be the new batch. That's what i got on mine.

I already have a Gateway but i've been using the DSTWO to play NDS games. Now, i take out my DSTWO and installed the new EOS for DSTWO+ and the Gateway plugin. Launched the gateway plugin and it ask me if i'd like to update my DSTWO+. I let it do it's job. After its done, it attempts to install the DS Profile exploit. This is where i encountered issues because after installing, my DS profile exploit stopped working. Luckily since its my Blue card replacement, i just run back the original ROPS installer and it works. I was able to go into emunand mode using my DSTWO.

So guy's who bought your DSTWO recently. Try it out and see how it goes.

DSTWO+ emulates Gateway, so if you want to play 3ds games you need to launch Gateway mode.

No proof, I believe he wants someone else to use the latest update on there dstwo cards and see what happens. Link to the supercard forum and video proof of someone showing differece's, and performing the update.

I don't think he is saying he randomly updated an old DSTWO into a DSTWO+ with just a software update. Sounds to me like he is saying that recent batches of DSTWO carts being sold (i.e. in the last six to eight weeks) have actually been DSTWO+ carts with a DSTWO label.

According to the official site, the DSTWO plus has two times the CPLD, Twice the flash memory and faster onboard CPU (eng.supercard.sc) in comparison to the standard DSTWO

Yes because i can tell you that my DSTwo granted is not from a recent batch but i can assure you that mine never wanted to run the GW_SIMULATOR plugin without throwing a "This is not 3DS" error.

Then again the blue card CIA file might be breaking the plugin or something.

Hmm, here's the link to the Supercard chinese forum where the admin mentions that the recent batch of DSTWO can be upgraded to DSTWO+. Link here

Here's a picture of my DSTWO cart for reference. You guys can compare against your own cart. If it has the screw on the back, it's definitely an old batch and cannot be upgraded.

One thing to note. If you are on the N3DS like me. The Gateway plugin provided only installs the profile exploit for O3DS, it doesn't support the N3DS. You will have to install the exploit using via .nds file or wait for Supercard to provide an update for their plugin.

*Update: I'll try some new stuff tonight. It seems there has been ppl reporting that they can go into emunand mode but can't play any 3ds games. I was able to press select and call up an empty Gateway roms menu. Haven't placed any .3ds games on the root of my microsd yet. Will see whether it does work when i load some in.

Well, I just tried it myself- downloaded the updated EOS, and Gateway plugin- let it update my "DSTwo Plus" and it was successful.
I ordered mine very recently, like- right before they were taken off NDS-Card, so recent, I just got it on Ocotober 5th. I thought it was odd there wasn't a screw on the back. That's really neat, so I essentially have a gateway card?

If only I had 9.2 3DS to try this with, though sadly I don't.

So someone decided to update there dstwo with the dstwo+ update and did not get it to work. The latest batch that went out was to the US market (they said domestic). The only thing I can think of was when they start reseling the dstwo again, meaning when all resellers had a fresh batch. its possible but even with the old dstwo you can update to this new firmware for dstwo+ but it will not function as a dstwo+ and 3ds games will not load...
