Hacking Bought PS Vita Slim w. fw 3.52 - can I run homebrew?

Hi,

I'm sorry if I may be asking a too simple question, but I was read through the forums here and spent some time on google, and it was just too much information for me since I'm not common with all the different verbs like custom buble, different ARKs, eCFW and so on.
I just got a Vita with the firmware 3.52 which was factory resettet, so nothing on the Vita is installed, no PSP games, nothing. Someone told me that it was possible to run homebrew on 3.52 over eCFW on the PSP emulator, but I would at least need to have one PSP game installed (which doesn't have to be an expoit game, just a regular PSP game). In that case I could install ARK-2 using some kind of email exploit.
Is that correct so far? What can I do if I don't have any PSP game installed? I can buy any on PSN since it requires me to update to 3.55. Is there any other solution how I can run homebrew on my 3.52 vita?

There has been numerous things that have been ported to 3.52 recently, such as ARK and TN-V11. I do suggest you go to Wololo.net for the basics and tutorials, but I can give you a brief of what's in store for you. (I also bought a Vita on 3.52, but I made a bit of a mistake doing that, because you can run more popular hack methods, such as Rejuvinate, on firmwares 3.51 and under.)
Custom Bubbles can be made using the fail-mail exploit (which has been patched in 3.55), where you can dump a database file called 'app.db', then modify it, and then place it back into the Vita, which can cause new bubbles to be made on the home screen. It's a more thorough and complex process than the one I've just explained to you, though. Like I say, you should definitely visit either Wololo.net, or Hackinformer.com for the full thing.

if you do update to 3.55 you can still put ark and tn-v on it though but i would stick with 3.52 if you can because you can use the email method to give you more options as far as what you can do

use my guide here but it does require you to buy a game but its totally worth it and it will probs get removed or fixed soon so get it now while you can but as i said if your on 3.52 you can just use the email method to add ark to your pstv or vita
