I have, however, noticed a proper crackdown in the past few weeks.

For the_randomizer, let's put it this way. You own and run a pub. Your patrons come in and are generally a good crowd, sometimes they get rowdy but nothing that gets too far out of hand. Then there's one guy that comes in and tries to turn the place upside down because he doesn't know his limit, gets mouthy and belligerent towards the other patrons. You cut him off and tell him to go home and sleep it off. But he does it again. And again. And again. Despite saying how many times he's sorry for doing it and that he's just going through a rough patch, the wife is mad at him, etc, and he won't do it again. But he keeps doing it anyway. So you ban him from the establishment because you gave him way more chances than anyone reasonably deserves.

Teampleb I have no clue. This is news to me and I don't get to spend as much time on this site as I'd like to anymore, so I'm not always completely in the loop.

Edit - but looking into what I have the ability to it sounds as if he's made some efforts to leave the site as well. Email changed to a presumably non-existent one and he posted a status saying he changed his pass to a randomly generated one so once he logs out he can't log back in. Non-existent email would make sure you can't do a password recovery then.

Cheers for the info, guys. It's a rough world out there, but you have to try and get through it as much as you can. Unfortunately, some people like them just give up and just think "f**k it, thug life chose me". That's... just low to me. And to be honest, I can see why the mods are cracking down heavily now. It's just a common case of 'play the game properly, or not at all'.

I don't say this in regards to anyone in particular, just in general, but we try and tend to be very lenient around here. Everything is discretionary and there are some things that we let slide on occasion. Someone getting a little mouthy, posting a meme where it shouldn't be, basically what I'm trying to say is even though we have the rules set out how they are that doesn't mean every single post is black and white and there's zero leeway for anything in them. Follow the rules, no problem, if you start going over the line a bit that's when posts start getting reported and we have to see if there really is a problem. And when it comes to that, if we tell you to cut the shit, cut the shit. Unless you're actively trying to get banned, then just straight up tell us and we'll ban you, or something.

I know not every post agrees with every person, I've been on the other end of the argument before too. But try to just keep in the back of your mind that none of us here run this site for any kind of pay, it's all volunteer, so we do like to and need to live lives outside of moderating here. I know that's what we signed up for, and I don't have a problem with it, but if there's even one percent less bullshit to deal it goes a long way. We just want to keep the site from catching fire and make sure we all have a place to discuss and have fun.
