Hacking Suspicious Gateway 3DS "Official" Reseller

I've seen some posts in this section of the forum talking about Gateway 3DS Resellers, so I think it is appropriate to talk about this here. I recently ordered a Gateway from http://www.gateway-3ds-buy.com/. They claim to have a warehouse in California stated on their contacts page. My shipping address is located California also. They say shipping in the US is 1-5 days. They haven't responded to my email which I sent a couple of days ago. According to maxconsole, they have been inactive for a while. However, I was charged about $10 over the price they claimed they charged me ($68). In the "receipt" I received in the email by [email protected], they tell me that my payment was successful. After searching online about the company that sent the receipt I found this: http://www.scambook.com/report/view/340170/handbagsideacom-Complaint-340170-for-$240.00 &
http://www.scambook.com/report/view/343224/service1hponlineshopcom-Complaint-343224-for-$86.61. In summary, scambook says that the Chinese company is used as a payment service.

Has anyone else ordered from this reseller recently? If so, have you received an email from [email protected] as a receipt? If you received a Gateway 3DS from this reseller since April to present, how long did it take for your to receive your Gateway 3DS? Also, any tips on receiving money back if this company is fraudulent?

I really need help, any advice on the situation is appreciated.

They are listed as an official reseller on the GW3DS website, which seems to indicate a level of legitimacy.

That said, there is an entire 4 pages of forum posts discussing the subject and it seems very unclear. Several users report receiving their device but a few others insist on staying away from it. http://www.maxconsole.com/maxcon_forums/threads/284906-Is-gateway-3ds-buy-a-scam

It seems at the moment all you can do is read through that thread and wait.

I ordered from them on the 10th, and it said that it shipped on the 12th. I still have not received my gateway card. I emailed them twice for a tracking # and no response. If I don't get my order tomorrow or a tracking number at the very least I'm going to file a claim with my bank. I haven't checked how much they charged but it was supposed to be $68. I did receive an email from hponlineshop as well.

Edit: was also charged $10 over what it said. Will have to file a claim regardless.

The hponlineshop email says:

Due to floating of exchange rate, the amount of our order will be slightly different.
Please note that the bank will charge some cross-border fees.

Which is bullshit.

Yeah they can't quote an amount and charge you more hoping you won't notice. Let us know if you get your money back.

Last time their sales dep emailed me at 3am when I had an inquiry before placing an order, so I am assuming their offices are in China. I waited another day but didn't receive any emails upon waking up this morning so I sent them another. I pretty much asked them to an answer within 24 hours or I would seek reimbursement with my bank. I'm honestly not worried about getting my money back but for a company listed as a re-seller this is really shocking.

don't deal with this website

it's an old story but I once got a bad moded Wii and the company wouldn't give the money back or pay to fix it so I gave a full list of how they are scamming people, the thread was published here in GBAtemp(which is already too old and the thread doesn't exist) and then the C.E.O begged me that he'll do anything just to make me happy, but I already fixed my Wii, to make a long story short the company shut down after that for all I know and one of the things I was talking about in that same thread is how they published in they're website with my nickname and full name, how good they are and lots of complements from me and a lot of other people and it was all false I never wrote those things and neither do the other people which some of them approved after checking they're own names on the website

the comments system in http://www.gateway-3ds-buy.com/ looks almost identical to the way they have used it, which makes me believe its also false advertisement

and since the last time I contacted http://www.gateway-3ds-buy.com/ I haven't got a response so don't waste your time ACT NOW!

I could also be wrong; there's really no telling because these places are shady to begin with.

Oh, you ordered overseas. 2 weeks max before even thinking about reimbursement. So far its only been 1 week, I would wait until the week of the 26th.

Even if the shop has a warehouse in USA, they are based in China or Hong Kong and thus will use an Asian payment processor. The US warehouse was probably out of stock so your product is likely being shipped from Asia somewhere.

who ordered overseas? I paid like $4-5 extra and so did OP judging by his total because it was being specifically shipped from the USA. The site said it would take 5 days MAX.

Why pay for a Gateway, when you can use CFW for free?

does CFW support all games up to date? can you spoof the firmware? can you play region free? can you play online while playing region free game? i dont think the support is as good as gateway yet. also i dont think you can install that on a firmware v8.1.

I think if you relax you'll find your gateway delivered in a week or so.

You can't even go online without getting banned, and with more than a dozen games, switching is tedious.

Everybody has a reason they can't use cfw or they won't. Some people just need to figure out whats more feasible to use for themselves. There's no point in arguing which is better because everyone's situation is different, or there level of usage.

If you checkout from their store you literally can't purchase it without paying $3 for:

Shipping and Handling USPS for USA Customers from USA Warehouse.

The front of their site says:

**USA instock** Arrive US Customers in 1-5 Days **

If you complete the order it then says:

Order Total$68.00

So I'm paying $3 for something that I didn't receive(1-5 day shipping) AND an additional $10 mystery charge that I didn't agree to. It's been 8 days by the way. I'm not even mad about waiting the few extra days, I'm mad that after 8 days since shipped I've yet to receive tracking and am getting no response from them.

I am surprised by the amount of feedback I got (I imagined less replies). To clarify some things: they charged me $77.28 ($65 for Gateway + $3 for USPS for USA Customers from USA Warehouse + $0.61 for international fees + $8.67 extra?), and I already read the Maxconsole forum post about the reseller and how they are banned from Maxconsole for inactivity. My biggest mistake was not reading updated information on the reseller. I believe this reseller used to be really good last year. I actually decided to buy from this reseller because of MrMario2011's Youtube videos on Gateway. He recommended gateway-3ds-buy.com

I actually ordered a Gateway for myself from nds-card.com a year ago, but since I was running out of time to order from nds-card.com (takes at least two weeks for package to arrive, compared to 1-5 days) I went to US resellers. I wanted to make sure my brother gets his gift at least sometime near his birthday, but he didn't and still has not received it yet.

I would like to thank the people who answered majority of my questions. Maybe I need to be more patient. However, I believe that in case this reseller is cheating me, I should have a backup plan. The last person to post on the Maxconsole forum bought his Gateway in April 2015 (http://www.maxconsole.com/maxcon_forums/threads/284906-Is-gateway-3ds-buy-a-scam/page4), which is why I wanted to hear about recent buyers experiences (April to present). I guess I will reword my unanswered question. How do I get my money back if this reseller is fraudulent ? (so I can use a legit reseller and my brother can get his gift ASAP).
