Hacking 9.5 sysNAND buying sky3ds and a cart for old ds games

Hello, I have a N3ds XL with 9.5 sysNAND so I gave up on buying gateway:

1.because I can't really use it right now.

2.if I want to wait I can just use CFW when there is a breakthrough.

So I decided to buy a sky3ds cart but it doesn't support my old ds games and I don't think my old R4 for NDS light would work

what cart do you think I should buy and what are the pro and cons for each one?

and how do I know to spot a fake when I buy a cart?
I know that on the sky3ds I need to look for a blue button to get the new one

For DS games only you can buy either the R4i Gold 3DS or the R4i rts, I have used both, they work as intended and you get to load all the NDS roms you want, they should be around $15-$20.

You can also consider the DSTWO it has a built-in GBA and SNES emulators, so it's a plus for the GBA emulation, it is not perfect and some games need frameskiping but gets the job done, you can download and add other emulators to the card too.

Anyways, you can get free NES, SNES, Gameboy and Gameboy color emulation using Themehax/Browserhax

Worry about getting fakes? Just buy from sites with good reputation and don't worry about getting fakes, I buy from chipmodsdirect (they ship from within USA) and never had a problem, if you are from another region just write your country and someone else could tell you where to buy from.

1) I don't really know, I have never really owned a DSTWO but had a couple of friends who own them and read many others opinion, and they all claim it does a good job with emulators, I have a 9.2 3DS so I have perfect GBA gaming.

2) I have owned both of this products and personally, it didn't make any difference.

3) In your case I would choose DSTWO just for the GBA emulation, I love GBA games.

But as I stated before you can get NES, SNES, Gameboy and Gameboy color emulation for free with Themehax now days, before when cubic ninja was the only way to access native homebrew/emulators selling at $50 DSTWO was the no brainer and other option to get homebrews, so it all boils to: DO YOU WANT GBA GAMES, because you can get the others either way.

4) Don't get a DSTWO+ it emulates Gateway, is a DSTWO + Gateway in one card, meaning that 3DS games will only work in a 9.2 or lower firmware.

Only newer games like the new Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, and Super Mystery Dungeon have AP checks that Sky3DS can't bypass. Only one of those games is released in America.

It can still play every other Retail game including Cubic Ninja or OOT if you ever need those entrypoints.

I think he is just miss informed, there was suspicion that the 10.0 update blocked a kernel exploit but the stuff that was patched was useless, this was said by several hackers.

People hear a rumor and start spreading information about a CFW coming in a few weeks...

I use this one... I don't think there's much of a difference with the one you linked... they both use the same base kernel/launcher
