I plan on picking it up as soon as it lands on the eshop. I love the series and I can't wait to play it. With that being said I kind of wished they released a physical copy but whatever.

Dang... I really want this, but don't want to upgrade my WiiU past 5.3.0 or whatever it was.
I believe you can firmware spoof, although you may want to ask someone in the Wii U section. On the topic of the game I haven't played a Fatal Frame game so I don't know about picking it up, I may eventually though.

god look at them terrible controls deff won't be getting this.

The game has been praised in Japanese reviews for the intuitive use of the gamepad controller as your camera in game. Though the characters themselves have always been sluggish to move in the Fatal Frame series and the new title still received some flack for that, but that has nothing to do with the controller itself.

If you've ever played a game in this series then you'd already know the sluggish controls are forgivable for the frightening yet fun experiences they can provide.

I'm looking forward to trying this but I'm gonna wait for a physical release.
At the very least Nintendo should sell it from their online store if they think it'll have a low turn out.
Though it'll likely be sold out in the first ten minutes heh.

Maybe I'll get it digitally if there is a sale as I'm not found of paying full price for digital games.
Usually these "free to try" games from Nintendo (StretchMo,SteelDiver SubWars,Rusty's overpriced minigames, MiiPlaza games) never get a price drop or sale and seem to go to lengths to hide the price till ya tray to buy it. Mind you they could have a sale since it has to check first but I've yet to see it happen and assume they are hoping to play off of impulse buys and lack of knowledge from consumers. Not the worst but still shady tactics.

Not to mention a game like this needs to be in a collection.

Japanese might love that gimmicky shit but i don't.

I wouldn't call it a gimmick when it works well and by most accounts adds to the fun factor. Fuck, if they made a sequel to Pokemon Snap, I sure as hell hope they'd utilize the gamepad in the same way where the gamepad is your camera. It's not a gimmick when its intuitive and fun, which by all accounts it is here.

Actually, it is a gimmick. So were color movies. So were movies with sound. So were 3-D graphics. So were convertible cars.

Whenever you launch a product in your industry which is uncommon, it is a gimmick. Making pictures that move, having sound during movies, heck even having novels that were written the way people talk instead of in complicated poetic forms were gimmicks at one point.

Was happy about this game. Saw that the risque costumes are being edited out. -Fuck this! I'm really tired of sexy things being removed from western releases.
