ATTENTION: This guide does not come without any risk ... potetionally you've could leave traces in sysnand which Nintendo might be able to find ... use at your own risk ... you have been warned!

Hardware Requirements:

- Cubic Ninja (Retail or eShop (JPN only!))
- microSD Card (sizes up to 16GB have been tested by me)
- Your new3DS (9.0.0-X up till 9.2.0-X, for X is between 7 and 20.)
- Your PC (everything that can handle a microSD Card will be fine )
- microSD CardReader (everything your pc can handle will be sufficient!)

Software Requirements:

- Ninjhax 1.x (tested with 1.1b)
- Pasta CFW (tested with 1.3 (beta 7))
- Gateway Launcher (tested with Gateway Ultra 3.4.1)
- FBI Installer (1.4.14)
- Reinand (>= 2.1) / Cakesfw (>= 2.6) / rxTools (>= 3.0)
- Optional: Free-Multi-Patcher (>= 0.5 Beta)

Let's start ...

1. Download the software Requirements (i will not tell you were to get those things ... you have to find them on your own)
2. Insert your new3DS' mircoSD Card into your PC using a CardReader
3. Copy all the files from Ninjhax, PastaCFW, Gateway Launcher, FBI installer and the CFW of your choice onto your mircoSD Card (and keep a backup on your PC for the moment after you've reached step #6!)
4. Unmount it from your PC, insert it into your new3DS

5. Launch Cubic Ninja and scan Gateways QRCode ... wait for Gateway to install itself onto the Cubic Ninja cartridge (all this will need Wifi Connection!!!)
6. In the Gateway launcher menu select "Format emunand". Shutdown when finished
(IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE YET ALREADY ... CREATE A BACKUP OF YOUR NAND NOW ... YOU CAN FIND THIS OPTION IN THE GATEWAY MENU !!!!)

7. Remove microSDCard from your new3DS and copy over all of your files again! Turn on your new3DS again and launch Cubic Ninja
8. In the main menu press "L+R+X+Y" at once ... and select to delete the save data

9. Scan the QR-Code for Ninjhax. Press A to install Ninjhax to Cubic Ninja (all this will need Wifi Connection!!!)
10. In the hombrew launcher menu, select Pasta CFW and boot it
11. Having booted into Pasta CFW, launch Cubic Ninja again ... and launch FBI from the hombrew launcher menu this time
12. In FBI select to install FBI.cia to SDCard ... you maybe also want to install FreemultiPatcher.cia with the same settings right now, so you can later easily circumvent region locks in your emunand
14. Wait for it to finish and shutdown your new3DS. Remove the microSD Card from the new3DS and turn it on again

15. Unlink your emunand from sysnand via System Settings > Other Settings > Format System Memory.
16. Once done with setting sysnand up properly again turn off the new3DS, insert mircoSD Card again and launch the CFW of your choice (Reinand / Cakesfw / rxTools >= 3.0) via Cubic Ninja > Homebrew launcher menu.

17. See FBI (and maybe even the Free-Multi-Patcher, if you've chosen to install it) on your main menu ... Start it and install CIA files from your mircoSD Card (to your microSD Card) ... and profit

20. Update your emunand for better compatibility. At the time when this tutorial was written you can only update your emunand to Version 9.5. To Update your emunand you can use FBI with update files created by 3dnus (https://gbatemp.net/threads/3dnus.376488/)

21. Make a backup of your microSD Card ... otherwise if you get the "update notification" nag screen ... there's no way to easily remove it from emunand )

I hope this will help people struggeling with the same problems that i've faced in achieving CFW on new3DS

Can we downgrade the MSET and install it (Reinand Etc.) On the MSET ?

jup, this method requires you to run cubic ninja every time ... but the advantage is that you do not have to make any permanent modifications to your device ... just take out the cubic ninja cartridge and your microSD card ... and you've got a completely legit device again
And of course you could always downgrade MSET to an exploitable version and install the MSET exploit via a DS flashcard. The process is depending on your choice for a CFW, though ... so this question is not easy to answer, when we do not know which CFW you want to use ... but in general FBI installer should contain a LOT of ROP loading methods you can choose to install. Just boot PastaCFW and launch FBI ... and then you have to press SELECT ... as far as i remember and choose for which CFW you want to install the exploit.

Yes, sure thing, you've got at least two other possibilities

This basically means that you can either use the Youtube Exploit or the Smash Bros. Exploit on your New3DS from Firmware Version 9.0.0-X up to and including 10.1.0-X (for X up to and including 27)

Also, if you've already got another hacked o3DS or n3DS you could look into the Ocarina of Time Exploit
Last, but not least if you've got a copy of "Ironfall: Invasion" from the eShop before 11.09.2015 you could use this one as an entrypoint for homebrew.

Btw: There are rumors spreading around, that soon you should be able to exploit the new3DS browser (skater) to run homebrew. As far as i know the exploit was not publicly released yet, though ;/

Finally I've got my New 3ds with 9.0
But with OoT Hax , you can't use the Ninjhax 1.1 exploit..

I have N3DS with a 4GB mSD Card. After formating the EmuNAND I got only 2GB partition on the mSD Card at the end.
The remaining 2GB at the beginning are not used by a partition, this will be the emuNAND partition then?

i got a version of theme installer 1.2 that autoboots to emunand.... dont need to press L.... and it boots the reinand boot file straight up (no splash screen version).... so as long as boot is successful.... from power button press to emunand in 30 seconds no other buttons pressed
