Homebrew Can I install a CIA that will let me access the homebrew launcher from the home menu?

I'm surprised I haven't found this, as it seems hard to believe it wouldn't exist. I simply can't possibly imagine how this would not be technically possible.

You know how the Homebrew Launcher can be loaded from titles that can be installed as a CIA? Take Ironhax, for example. Ironfall: Invasion can be installed as a CIA (or from the eShop, which is really the same thing), and one of its functions is to load the Homebrew Launcher. It wasn't a function that was intentionally programmed into it, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still one of the functions of that program.

It could certainly be a lot more convenient, however. It doesn't just load the homebrew launcher immediately; first you have to wait through some logos and loading screens. It doesn't take that long, but it's certainly been annoying when I'm trying to figure out what's causing a complete system hang that doesn't happen in Citra.

So why can't someone create a homebrew application that can be installed as a CIA, and simply loads the Homebrew Launcher in the same way the various exploits do? I'd make it myself if I knew how. Does something like this exist already?

Use themehax aka homemenuhax with the L trigger button (the original one). Then to enter the HB menu just press power then home and then hold L. This will take you to the HB menu. Simple enough and quicker than ironfall and cubic cia saves.

Is there any way to use that and still have custom themes though?

Honestly I don't know as I don't use nor my kids use custom themes. Custom themes never really got our attention as the 3ds is only used when playing a game either on flights or car trips.

But for now just see which is more important to you, quick load to HB menu or having custom themes. For us its easy as we don't stay in the home menu long enough to appreciate themes.

I don't understand why it's so complicated to make the Homebrew Launcher a standalone app. Why not just include all the payloads inside the CIA file, or get them via HTTP when it's first launched?

Ninjhax2 runs on top of the home menu. So...yeah...
Everything runs ontop of home menu except from the gba emulator thing of nintendo and some other exception, ninjhax 1 also runs ontop of home menu so what you just said makes no sense at all.
When you run ninjhax 1 you can be on the HL or running hombrew and if any friend of you gets conected the orange led blinks, how do you think that happens? The fact that you don't have the ability to acces the home menu from it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that it's always runing on second term.

Ninjhax2 literally runs *as* the home menu. Ninjhax1 ran as Cubic Ninja.

It would certainly be possible, but it would require CFW to be launched, and smealum et al. are not supporters of piracy which is probably why there isn't a ninjhax CIA.
The payload would have to be embedded in the CIA, and being as it is not designed to work in that way, it would probably need to be modified, however it's a lot easier with NH2.0 since it's designed to work with many different entry points.

Themehax or browserhax are the best options for homebrew now.

Anyway, @Tjessx said he found a workaround to launch THL with a CIA

But, after days, no news!.. Then, really we don't know if will be possible port a functional HBL to .cia format. And, as many people said here, probably there will be no more interest on this thing, because existence of ThemeHax!

The problem with themehax is that you need to reboot your console each time JUST to access it. Meaning if I wanted to play homebrew i'd have to turn the console off and on again just to be able to run cfw again. Super tedious.

That you said about only reboot console is not necessary, indeed!... There are other methods to access quickly to ThemeHax: pushing POWER button softly, then when a black screen with advices shows, push HOME button and just inmediately, hold L button and voilà!... Or, entering and exiting with L button holded from apps like WebBrowser, Miiverse, Camera (those are shown on top of HOME Menu) or System Settings too!
