nope just you. its a shame they cut out a lot of content but it's hardly crap.
but no codec calls, character development or story and the control scheme is ballz, all the things that make MGS good.

The repetitive gameplay is what ruins this game for me though, it's the same missions in rehashed areas over and over again, how can you say that's good? Open world damaged this game tbh

it's certainly different than past MGS games. but i wouldn't say it's any worse. and it's no more repetitive than previous MGS games. also the story is quite deep actually. listen to the audio tapes.

I listened to all of them but it just doesn't give an authentic story experience like before =[

nah i think you just got rose tinted goggles on when it comes to past MGS games.
i dont think so tbh, mgs5 has some serious shortcomings

it has really good gameplay and nice new features but it severely lacks in story, character development and most importantly level design even GZ was miles better. As a MGS game it is kinda crap imo but.. as a standalone game, it okay I guess but still too repetetive

I wouldn't say crap but it's definitely not 11/10 best game ever created like I see plenty claim.
It's a solid title.

I'm at about the halfway mark, and while the game is overall good, it does have a few negatives that I've seen, some of which I would venture a guess are indicative of a product the company wanted to push out the door as quickly as possible (Konami wants to be a "big boy" gambling company now, you know. With pachinko instead of kiddie video games).

The game purports to be open world, yet appears to be constructed of numerous environments that are filled with "invisible walls", meaning you can see the surface but if you manage to get to it you will find your progress blocked. Many of the "mission areas" are arbitrary and if you are driving a vehicle don't give you adequate warning that you are "abandoning the mission" should you not stop the truck in time. The dog buddy frequently and deliberately runs directly in front of the vehicle you are driving when you first start it, meaning you have to waste precious seconds in timed missions or else risk harming your companion. The vehicle collision detection and gravity settings are wildly unrealistic, creating scenarios where a small Jeep can send a large supply truck flying through the air if the AI decides it wants to go where that truck is.

And of course there's the fact that Konami took the entire third section of the game and just axed it, leaving a gaping hole where it should have been.

Is it a bad game? No- the developers who suffered through slave-labor conditions at Konami did the best they could. Is it frustrating, buggy and unfinished? Yes.

The fucking medic... 100% complete here. The content cut is obvious, but it's certainly not crap.

I wonder what it would've been if it was finished for real...

I gave up 20% in. It was alright but didn't think it was that good.

I'd sneak around at the beginning of every mission, get busted along the way, then fire fight my way out. Rinse and repeat.

Plus I thought it was annoying how far I had to travel during some missions on my horse. Needs a fast travel option.

Alright game but not the best. 8/10. I traded my copy in for super mario maker. Waiting its arrival to my local store later this week!

I hated that horse.
Hated him.
He was so slow, he got in the way in places he shouldn't have, and the whole "hide on the horse" thing never worked.

When I discovered that you can sprint at a massive pace (like something like twice as fast as the horse) by simply leaning forward and clicking the left stick, I dumped the stupid thing and never looked back. If I needed a mount I would get myself a truck. You need to stop a tank? Park it in the road, sit under a box and fulton out the tank when it stops in front of the truck.

D-Dog, on the other hand, was totally valuable... except when he decided that the best place for him in missions of urgency was always running directly in front of the truck that needed to be hijacked.

Three minutes remaining.

SMACK

Bond with D-Dog has decreased.

"Dammit."

I have a few friends on the podcast I do that have talked about nothing but MGSV for a few weeks straight now. Getting kinda tired of it tbh. Oh well, they like it a lot.

As a fanboy of MGS, I felt it was incomplete and a bit disappointing in terms of story and content variety like most people but this is one of the best stealth games i ever played if not the best, i dare say i love it more than i did Thief 2 on PC back in the day and the FOX engine is super impressive.
I think it was worth my money im still playing it at 85% for the S ranks after 170 hours and I'm curious about Metal Gear Online 3 although I normally dislike online games.
Overall i feel MGSV leaves off so the next game has something to pickup from and it seems like a lost chance at a better game if it had just a little more to it, the system is there but lacks in variety ... it can get there with expansion / DLC areas and missions but as Konami focus is Mobile and Gambling market nowadays i really don't hope it to happen.
