I had the same problem. You need to replace the boot.3dsx from the starter.zip package with the latest boot.3dsx
your talking about ninjhax 2.1?
i tried installing that just now and it seems extremely unstable, dosent freeze when launching a app but it can only launch very select things
reinand NO
decrypt9 NO
themehax yes (redundant)
ctrx yes

i mainly want this to launch Reinand and decrypt9 so i would no longer need to swap out Carts to load or decrypt things.

That requires Ninjhax1.1b
I believe someone is making a way for <=9.2 to use Ninjhax 2 to elevate permissions to 1.1 but your best bet is installing CFW and making it boot into emuNAND.

That's being worked on at the moment. At least I'm pretty sure I just read that in another thread. I tried to launch cakes from Themehax with no luck. Apparently it's a n3ds timing issue. (?)

1.1b boot.3dsx won't make any difference, since the payload is still the 2.x one.

You can try CakesFW: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-cakesfw.391200/page-62#post-5695644
rxTools etc. will get support for themehax soon.

Are you saying we can already boot into CakesFW through homemenunax on a N3DS 9.0? I thought no CFWs could yet be boot through homemenuhax... I thought it was restricted to the same access as Ninjhax 2.0, am I mistaken? I'd love to start booting into CFW without having to load up Cubic Ninja every time.

I did, hence my confusion, first you make it sound like Cakes works then you say rxtools and others will come soon. Does Cakes CFW already indeed work through homememuhax? I can't seem to find a solid answer on this yet.
I meant, read the post I linked.

As for rxTools, Brahma is already ported for Ninjhax2, which rxTools uses, however it doesn't seem to work on n3DS just yet due to some n3DS specific changes in Ninjhax2.

I have a USA black n3ds Xl on 9.0 and homebrew menu either boots but doesn't display any homebrew or it'll show the homebrew but then it freezes when I try to launch it.

Can anyone confirm upgrading to 9.2 fixes this issue?

I'm using an N3DS EUR on firmware 9.0 and homemenuhax is working perfectly for me.
