I DID NOT FIND THIS FIX! TEAMPLEB FOUND IT GO THANK HIM!

1. Power up your 3DS console normally (do not boot into the homebrew launcher)

2. Open any app (Music app, a VC game, etc)

3. Hold the power button until you get the screen that tells you "software closed"

4. Press the Home menu button on your 3DS and IMMEDIATELY hold down the L button.

5. The homebrew launcher will now start.

6. Go to BlargSNES and choose a rom, now enjoy playing your SNES games!

Hopefully yellows8 will fix this issue so we don't have to do this every time.

This works because it is opening an official app that uses core1. With HMH, we dont open an official app so we have a litttle less capability with HMH without opening an official app first.

I am using home menu hax to load into home brew and I have had no problems with any emulators not working so far.

But in my case I use a similar boot method

You don't have to launch any apps in my method. But my system never really gets turned off anyways.

1. Hold power button until the "power off" menu appears.

2. Press home menu button to return to home menu.

3. While home menu is loading launch Menuhax.

It could get banned from PSN but you can change your ID I think?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
also gonna install twilight menu in my r4 flashcard

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
