I have a regular 3DS and so far only GameYob runs at full speed with Pokemon Yellow (Although the others run fine too like Pokemon Crystal) and I can get BlargSNES to work decent but 70-80% of the ROMs don't work or crash and there's graphical glitches and layer issues in all the games I played and the sound is distorted or stutters. Some effects also don't work (like when you enter a stage in Super Mario World, the stage doesn't do that blurry effect and when entering from a cave or building to the overworld in The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, the expanding outer circle is green instead of black). I tried FCUMM and it runs at only 70-80% the actual speed of NES games and mGBA ran them VERY SLOW! I was told that you need to buy a N3DS to play these ROMs at full speed but it's $200 and the non-XL model just came out today in NA but again, I don't have $199 to buy a new one and I doubt selling my DSi XL and regular 3DS would give me enough money or even close enough to buy a N3DS. So what do I do. Can anyone give me a list of emulators that run via Ninjhax/TubeHax at full speed? I tried to get CatSFC but there's no "3dsx" file so it wouldn't even show up in the Homebrew launcher. I'm also thinking about a buying a Gateway 3DS card if it allows "Kernel" access on FW9.9.0-26 and if "cia" files can installed on any 3DS above 9.2 (Thanks a lot, Nintendo!), somebody let me know. My phone has NES, SNES, GB/GBC, GBA, and Genesis emulators that work full speed (Even SMRPG and KSS run at full speed) but whenever I try to connect my MOGA Pocket controller, it always fails to connect. I'm getting so fed up on how hard it is to play some classic games on the go with "physical controllers". It's like either the emulators are too damn slow on the 3DS or the it's next to impossible to get "physical controls" working on a phone. I wish Nintendo wasn't so stupid and would give us SNES and/or GBA Virtual Console games for the New 3DS instead of making them exclusive for the Wii U, which is a dying console!

what firmware are you on? your best option if you're on fw <=9.2 (that's less than or equal to 9.2) then you could install a CFW and run GBA games natively on the GBA firmware hack that user @Riku has made and inject ROMs into the virtual console for NES and GB(C), if above 9.2 the the options you have stated are your only ones

I'm on 9.9.0-26, I think and I heard there's no way to downgrade to 9.2.

I heard on the Gateway 3DS website that there's an update that will allow you to use the flashcard on 10.1, unless they mean "Emunand".

I'm so pissed. I just want to play some NES, SNES, and GBA games without going through this "touchpad" controls or slow emulator bullshit! I already have 65-70 NES Virtual Console games on my 3DS and the 10 Ambassador GBA games but that's not enough. I want to play TMNT and finally beat the Dam stage either with save states or Game Genie support. You only get 2-3 continues so the Wii VC version in Wii Mode is worthless and there's no cheats for level select or more continues unlike in Gradius or Super C.

you'd be right, unfortunately. Also Staplebutter has (seemingly) abandoned blargSNES, :( it was doing really well I'm not sure why he stopped (most likely IRL stuff) so don't expect that to get too much better unless someone else picks it up (idk if it'll happen) otherwise just keep waiting for mGBA and others to get better, there will most likely NEVER be full speed for most, and until a new kernel hack is found you're out of luck... sorry

+9.3 = Gameyob, QuickNes, Blargsnes.

There's only retroarch working in emulators that only works good on N3DS and no one want to invest time and effort to do a emulator from the scratch (except for machinamentum)

What the hell do I do? I'm very angry at Nintendo because of how stupid they are and my damn phone NEVER connects my MOGA controller but maybe 1/10 times but that's it. Why is it so fucking hard to play some classic games on the go without running into some bullshit issues like the lack of physical controls (Android phones) or very slow emulators (Old 3DS).

I don't think that mGBA will ever have full speed in +9.3, endrift is unconfident about that but let's see.

it's pretty easy to get a ps3 or ps4 controller to connect via bluetooth on android

How do I connect my PS3 controller to my Z3v phone? I have no way to do so? No connectors to attach to the phone.

I'm not buying a connector just so I can use something bulgy like a PS3 controller. Can someone tell me how the hell I can play some classic games without any bullshit (Slow emulators on 3DS, lack of physical controllers for phones, Nintendo being stupid and abandoning the 3DS Virtual Console). I'm not going back to the PSP and I haven't for 6 years now and I sold my old PSP years ago but I have a PSP Go and and PS Vita. Can the Vita run anything at full speed, like SNES or GBA?

you can get the bluetooth address of your phone (there's an app to do it) and then connect it to the computer and there's a program that you can use, you type in the phone's address and then use an app on the phone (you have to have root I should mention) and when you want to pair it you open the app, hit a few buttons, hit the PS button on the controller and BAM it pairs via bluetooth and then you can map all of the buttons out and do all sorts of crazy stuff, the app does cost money (it's not hard to find without paying if that's the route you wanna go)

Nope, because that's a pain in the ass since 1) the controller is bulgy and 2) it isn't connected to the damn phone requiring you to be at least 2-3 feet away from the tiny ass phone. This is bullshit, I wanna sue Nintendo for the lack of SNES and GBA games on the New 3DS. No wonder their Wii U is on it's last legs. That company's stupidity truly amazes me. People ask for SNES and GBA games on the New 3DS ever since it came out last year and the jackasses are still ignoring our requests and to add insult to injury, they discontinue the 3DS Virtual Console in December 2014 (Japan and Europe) and February 2015 (North America) and do nothing with it since. We only get 1 VC game on the Wii U each week and now JP and EU are getting weeks w/o any VC games! I'm so fucking fed up with Nintendo! They're not doing anything with the damn Virtual Console! In fact, more effort was put into it back in 2006-2009!

ehh... so you ask for a solution, I give you it and then you tell me that you don't want the solution because controllers are too big? it's not hard to setup (takes 15 minutes max) btw. anyways, calm down, it's a 3ds if they intended to have the full GBA library they'd have included a GBA port, you bought the thing knowing that not all of the games were available on it and suing nintendo because they didn't include these games would get you laughed out of court, consider it's pretty damn amazing that they even have ANY GBA games on the system, wait until a new exploit is released and if it's too much for you then get rid of the 3ds and get something else

No, maybe Nintendo needs to listen to their damn fans/costumers instead of being stupid.

I want someone to tell me how to play classic games (with a controller ATTACHED to a phone, not 3 feet away from the device because it's tiny and a pain in the ass) because I'm sick of the damn redtape! There's always so BS reason why you can play ROMs and emulators on the go being lack of physical controls and having to use the stupid touchpad screen which makes the games unplayable!

The NX better be 1) Portable and 2) Let you download (without paying again) and play NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, and Wii games, like both the 3DS and Wii U can.

I know how you feel!!! I really want/need/desire a way to play SNES perfectly on the run, some classic games!
That's why you should buy a New 3DS on SysNAND 9.0 or 9.2, I got one and SNES plays 90% perfectly for now, and I just bought a PS Vita, hoping some day homebrew will be easy to load and we'll have a full speed SNES and maybe even N64! :)

$200 dollars is too much and there's nothing I can trade in for it. Like what, My DSi XL and current 3DS, that'll probably only give me $50-60 at best and maybe $20-30 at worst!

it isn't nintendo's fault that you didn't read and make the right choices.... Consider that it takes QUITE a bit of effort to get a game ready for virtual console rerelease, sometimes they even retranslate parts of the script to make it easier, trust me it takes a LOT of effort to do that they also sometimes do bugfixes and other coding things and after that each game has to go through rigorous testing to make sure that it's stable and isn't going to crash on users, all of that can take several months just for one game. Image that times all of the games in the GBA library, do you know how many YEARS this would take? there's a reason why all of them aren't there and that's it right there. Also basically yelling at me isn't going to solve anyone's problems, just keep a cool head especially when people are trying to help you out

This is still BS! I want a "convenient" way to play these games, not some gimmick like I stated before. Is getting a N3DS my only option. Nintendo is dumb, okay! There's no damn excuse to abandon the 3DS Virtual Console after only 4 DAMN YEARS!! Making 90% of the Virtual Console "Wii U exclusive" and then discontinuing 3DS support is ASININE beyond so many levels!!

Yeah, if you think it is expensive, you don't believe how much more expensive they are in my country!!
I have a full time job and I spare and save money to buy my toys, as I don't have bills to pay or a family to feed, it's not that hard to buy them.

About the gimmick, I also agree with you. It is not convenient to plug a controller to my Android phone, drain it's battery playing games and having to pick it up to answer WhatsApp or calls. Also, the controler is bulky!

If you want retro game emulators that work just use a DSI XL and SupercardDSTwo.

The PSP 2000/3000/Go with CFW is also an option, but the controls always break and the devices feel kind of cheap and ugly to me; Nintendo makes much more rugged consoles.

If you have loads of money, you can always buy an Open Pandora. Best controls I've ever seen outside of Nintendo.

then get rid of your 3ds, you can still get a good amount for it (at least $90) if it's in good condition and get something like a PSP, that has GBA, NES, SNES and other emulators on it, and they're all pretty convenient to use, a permanently installed CFW and everything just boot up launch and go
