Get ready to step back into the courtroom, because Capcom has announced an Ace Attorney anime series that will debut next year. Going by the character designs shown, it appears to take place during the original trilogy of the franchise.

Western release please. Possibly even on the 3DS Anime Channel.
Well, even if it's not the case, we all know that someone will fansub it :) The only advantage of a dub here would be to have the translated names and voices (God knows how I love when he screams "Objection !" and "Take that !" :D)

Like Ritsuki said, Phoenix Wright without any "Objection!" is disappointing (I know he'll still say it, but not in English). Aside from that, I'm all for it. Here's to hoping it's actually new content.

Funnily enough I have the Ace Attorney movie on DVD, but for reasons I will never understand my PS3 gives me a region lock error, despite not giving me that error on any other DVD from the same region, or any other region for that matter. It's the only DVD/Blu Ray in my entire extensive collection that I need to watch through the DVD player built into the side of my TV, which necessitated finding the remote control. A lot of hassle just for one DVD.

At least the movie was fairly decent, at least by video game movie standards. One of the few that actually hold up IMO, alongside the Prince of Persia movie and debatably Tekken, though my opinion may be swayed somewhat by Christie Montiero's fabulous ass.

Mh, we'll see if it gets any good. I'd like it to cover the story from the first trilogy, and I would not like too much material, with silly fillers.. better to have less stuff, but actually good, that sticks to the games.

12 episodes to cover roughly 3 games, or roughly 60 hours? Two seasons might make that easier to happen, but they'd have to find a good stopping point between seasons, and the middle of the second game doesn't really cut it.

Mh, honestly, there's much more story in the third game that in the second and first one, with all the Diego Armando and Mia background. I'd sum up the first two games in a first season, cutting all the unnecessary, and focus on the third one in a second season, imho. But I'm sure Capcom has different plans :D

I am definitely happy to hear this news. Hell, I'll admit I squealed like a little girl for a bit. But at the same time, I'm preparing myself for a butchering. Better to be pleasantly surprised than to be disappointed because I set my expectations way too high

I'm not sure I'd enjoy an anime about courtrooms but I would have said the same thing about the Ace Attorney games had I not played them.
I love the games, so I'll have to check this out once it's subbed (or dubbed, but you know how crappy anime dubs tend to be)
